Why don't the devs communicate on class forums?

Most posts talk about numbers first lol
why would the devs want to communicate with the computers.

This is unironically, exactly what I’m asking for. Communication doesn’t always mean having a conversation

Considering how much vitriol is on the forums , you can’t really blame them. Every time the class balance pendulum swings in favor of one class over another there is a long list of destructive criticism that doesn’t lead to productive outcomes. If their class isn’t meta, they tell the devs how terrible they are, and generally isn’t insightful in any sense. Some are deranged and go off the deep end with threats.

And where I said I did not understood what you are asking ?
I said you demand something, you are not wanting to communicate. That in no way means I dont know what you want. I do know, and that is why I am saying you are not communicating.

Funny thing about JUST LIKE YOU ARE DOING, is the several contradictory things you say when you are wanting to defend what cannot be. Just like the people who fight other people to ā€œset people freeā€, when total freedom means total freedom to fight other people like you doing, but just like other people are doing to you, and as long as you demand the right to fight other people for freedom, you are fighting for their right to fight you too, and vice verse.

Same thing all these demands and aggressive takes. Until people understand that you can call on others to do what you yourself are striving not to, or to not do what you yourself is doing.

If you go around the net, you find a lot of communicating from Blizzard, devs and what not. They tell, they explain, they argue. The thing is: People dont accept their communications and claim they are ignoring. They are not. They remark they know, they just act according to what THEY WANT. That is still communicating.

If you cant accept their communication, that does constitute reason to say they dont.

If you say they DONT DO WHAT YOU WANT, then your post makes sense.

But communicating they are. They have a whole deparment solely tasked with COMMUNICATING WITH USERS.

So the problem is not that I dont understand what you want, you just talking non sense because you yourself confuses communication with giving importance. Those are not synonyms. They dont need to do or consider what you saying to be communicating.

You can just flip a new tab and find a pletoria of communications from Blizzard about stuff.

So again, you are the one who doesnt know what you want.

this wall of text is gibberish and angry rants, I’m not sure what ā€œtotal freedomā€ means in this context and I’m not interested in finding out. You seem confused on what I’m asking for, fair enough. I’ll leave this comment here that perfectly described what I want:

If they provide communication, you’ll get a discussion… requested or not.

Would you really subject yourself to us?

I mean, really now.

Dev comes on, says they are thinking of an idea…1000 posts about how dumb they are and it’s going to ruin the game…which devolves quickly into unrelated topics such as pancakes and social issues…

Yeah, no.

Only devs I’ve seen keep the wolves at bay are at Crate. Guy no joke tells people straight up what’s what. Very rare, very uncommon. Won’t find that in Blizzards playbook.

They used to. They don’t anymore.
Reason: It devolves from a discussion to a one sided insult contest (unless the Blue goes… ya know what I hate my job and I’m going out Armageddon style and goes full nuclear on posters).

The forums have and always will be the gladiatorial pits of yesteryear. The modern Thunderdome.
Forum PvP is a thing.

Wait, wait! I thought we were all besties?!

GC was notorious for bringing that smoke on posters thou. And the one thing I respected him for was the Absolute Zero Flying… Piggies… he gave when he went full Dexter on someone on the forums.

You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.

Some times it’s best not to discuss things that are being worked on as they are changing things around, but other times things should be said that aren’t or there are ideas that they should probably run past players to gauge reaction to avoid surprise at their unveiling. The need for surprise is exceeded by the potential woe of dismissal, it’s all data mined by the time most players get it anyway.

Data Mined and Over analyzed to death and back before it even drops for testing. People develop their unshakeable opinion on something these days based off of someone else’s ā€œexpertā€ opinion.

I’ve stopped reading and listening to data mined stories and just go in blind now to see how something new feels… if I don’t like it… I say so.

I always believed they preferred to use twitter to communicate rather than the forums.

This is exactly it. Bar none. I’m glad someone else remembers him.

Indeed. It was always fun to see it happen.

No one wants to be the piƱata.

between players on the forums, not the community manager that posted it. Like I said before I’m not looking for a back and forth between myself and the devs, just a post that covers their goals and design ideas behind the class. I still don’t understand why this idea is so deeply controversial

You’ve been told why, you’ve just rejected it. They used to do it and it caused chaos… so they don’t anymore. Like or dislike, there is nothing more to tell you.
