Why Does the Horde Grief so Much on Bigglesworth?

At least I’m correct.

People aren’t hung up on the definition, they’re hung up on what Blizzard will take action against. According to them, if Blizzard doesn’t do something about it, it’s not griefing. They’d be wrong about that.

I’m kind of hung up on the definition because it’s flying over peoples heads. Blizzard didn’t come up with the definition, they just decided that when it comes to PvP, unless it’s an extreme circumstance, they wont do anything about it. Regardless of whether or not it’s griefing.

But yeah, if people literally just went and read what it meant, this entire conversation would have been over 2 hours ago lol

When you play Alliance, you will predominantly get killed by Horde.

Those same quotes also say there are situations in which they may intervene, but they’re rare. TL:DR It’s up to their discretion. For the most part they wont do anything, but in extreme cases they will intervene. So you’re both correct.

Did find this…

Overall, “Griefing” is a bit nebulous, often used to mean “something I don’t like”, but not necessarily something where our staff would be able to intervene.

And in no way what anyone is talking about in this thread.

You literally just responded to someone talking about a situation that might be considered rare. So we are talking about it?

I think it is safe to say that MOST people who choose a PvP realm accept the fact that kill camping, ganking, etc. is part of the deal. This game has been out for nearly two decades now, and this has always been a fact of life when playing on a PvP realm.

This is also why PvE realms exist, if you can’t handle the heat, roll on a PvE realm.

I agree. I also said I accepted that fact. But I also gave a reason as to why I wouldn’t consider rolling on a PvE realm. Out of my 4 options, one is a PvE server with very low server pop, and 80% of that being alliance. I play horde. Essentially, rolling on that server would be crippling imo.

I enjoy PvP, don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t mean I have to like the fact that I can be camped for 30 min straight by two people who essentially get nothing out of it other than trying to piss me off after the first couple of kills.

This has become more about what is considered griefing to a player, not about everyday PvP interactions that we all have and accept. Just trying to make the point that some PvP behaviour can 100% be considered griefing.

Not sure why my reply targeted your post, was mostly in response to the OP.

Yeah, no doubt man…getting ganked repeatedly sucks. Sometimes you’re rendered unable to finish quests, hours of running back to your corpse, etc…I am not saying I enjoy that either, but I accept it as part of the journey.

I am just saying that it has always been this way…for so long now that when I see a player like OP make a thread about it, I have to wonder if they have just never played the game before now.

Can you imagine how many GM’s it would take to monitor PvP kill grievances on PvP servers across the world?

Think about it. This is probably happening to tens of thousands of people daily, and every single one of them has a reason why it shouldn’t be happening to them.

PvE servers are there because they don’t have the manpower to deal with trivial issues like PvP happening on a PvP server, nor would they care about coding new features on PvP servers to prevent PvP from happening depending on level.

This is not a Blizzard oversight. Server types are there as a preventative measure for players who don’t want to deal with the rigors of being on a server where stuff like this happens.

You missed the best part.

WoW Classic and Burning Crusade Classic

If you do not wish to engage in regular PvP combat, you must create your character on a Player versus Environment (PvE) realm.

Read that again.

And it goes without saying that flagrant asshattery is baked into the definition of regular PvP combat.

because we da best!

No it was true back then, I camped and was camped many, many times. I played only pvp realms until warmode came in BFA. Not once has anyone I personally know, or in a guild of mine has ever been punished for camping and trust me we camped a lot. It would more probability that today’s soft/woke blizzard would issue punishment back then. In fact if I recall years ago there was a blue post saying no actions would be taken for pvp happening on a pvp realm.

Nowhere did I mention punishment. But GMs most definitely messaged players asking them to move on.

No they didn’t. LOL not once has a GM ever showed up while me and the guildies corpse camped. Stop making stuff up, in fact go read the posts above that shows you their stance.

Never had it happen to me or anyone I know.

This forum does allow links, I guess you just want us to take your word for it that GM intervened when there are already links from Blizzard posted above stating the opposite of your suggestions.

Not only does it allow links, but anyone can link to any blizzard site.
