For real! Not a troll post. Back in Vanilla, the Alliance absolutely dominated AV, but now it seems like every time I join a game, nobody even tried to kill Galvanger, a couple of people try to cap towers, and the other 38 people jusy sit in Dun Baldar trying to dodge the AFK timer.
It’s bloody depressing. What happened to bring this sorry state of affairs about?
Other reasons include maybe that Alliance got accustomed to winning with premades in a few minutes and now, without premades lost too much so that has settled in to just accept the loss and play for “Scrap Honor”.
Another more Cynical reason is apparently Horde infiltration. Some groups report Horde playing alliance characters and sabotaging every game to provoke Horde wins. I understand that this may happen, but I do not think it is a conspiracy personally but others think it is.
Because horde complained about premades and they made changes. Alliance complain about horde back dooring DB, nothing happens. Just an example of two “exploits” and how they are dealt with. One gets answered and the other doesn’t.
Galv is worth the same honor as the other Lts, once balinda is dead. Unless killed while horde is attempting balinda, he’s not worth attempting because of his melee cleave potential to crush the group. Balinda damage output pales to Galvs, just one more advantage to horde.
it’s really simple, there’s no reason to. the chance of winning is so low it’s not worth the effort, alli players for the most part aren’t there for honor, they are ‘casuals’ there for rep or fun or some other purpose, the long horde queue times weed out most of the non dedicated pvpers their side, so what you get are a bunch of rather hapless alliance vs horde who have been waiting in queue forever who are chomping at the bit to make it as painful as possible for the other side. premades were the way to counter this, so that both sides had group of similar skill levels facing each other. couldn’t have that though, horde aren’t allowed to be on the receiving end of “unfortunate behavior”.
And if everyone goes for most honor per time then it just gets harder for everyone to rank since they compete with everyone else for rank points. The whole honor system is a Sisyphean treadmill where only a few can eke out a couple of points more than other people in order to rank high.
It really comes down to most time spent grinding, not who can get the most honor per time. All those people just going for honor per time are missing the big picture. Get rep in AV and get honor in WSG, that’s the way to get ahead.
