I’d rather they revamped Entropic Embrace to a racial that you can toggle so that you can customize a High Elf form separately from a Void Elf form, and the Void Elf form has that constant bonus effect from Entropic Embrace. Makes it a more meaningful choice to play as a High Elf rather than a Void Elf; you choose to sacrifice power for principles.
Granted in a revamped Telogrus Rift I’d like to see actual buildings, islands used to house artifacts and specimens from various void-related enemies the Alliance has encountered, and maybe the Silver Covenant there training to use the Void as well. Throw in some characters from various lodges to just really complete the idea that all of the Alliance’s Thalassian Elves are uniting under that one name (Ren’dorei), regardless of their personal choice of getting more power or not (revamped Entropic Embrace).
I do want to see Telogrus just, updated though. Black buildings, maybe use some of the WoD Shadowmoon Valley assets altered from blue to purple, etc… Like I said, the islands in the rift could be thematically used to house relics, artifacts, and specimens from enemies. Like, an island with a large lake that has the mind squids the Naga use, or one with Black Empire Obelisks from 8.3.
Throw in some NPCs providing lectures for good measure. Maybe some dialogue to retroactively make it seem like the Void Elves were more active during BFA.
“The Void is a dangerous power, and so trust does not come easily towards those whom wield it. Often we work best in covert methods, and as such, few outside of the Rift realize or appreciated that our forces were mobilized in their entirety in the defense of Uldum and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. As you can see here, however, we have various trophies of those conflicts, which we have been studying. Note these obelisks, used to empower minions of N’Zoth. Our researchers are close to a breakthrough regarding these, that would make it possible to safely empower our allies in a way not entirely dissimilar from that of Shaman totems.”
You can already do this by making a macro that cancels Entropic Embrace when it procs.
Just macro /cancelaura Entropic Embrace to abilities in your rotation. No Void form, loss of power. Exactly like you described.
I like it the way it is now. It’s the closest the game has to going Super Saiyan.
The only Horde I’ve ever seen or heard care about Void Elves have been on this forum, and they’re usually people heavily into lore and/or who either co-play or main Alliance.
The rest of us don’t care about anything you have, or anything you do, or your Barbie castle city, or whatever else it is that you imagine we care or even think about.
No.
Ironic. That’s how I often view many Alliance posters on this forum given the strange, deep obsession you have with us. There are always multiple threads like this claiming we care a lot about something we don’t care about at all; or think or do something we don’t; and unfair this and you want that; and you deserve more because something something Horde; and any other complaint or comment you can dream up. It often comes out of the blue. It never ends.
Many of you routinely say ugly things about Horde players - and believe it. You believe really ugly things about a huge population of complete strangers. That’s not just psychologically aberrant, it’s full-fledged bigotry.
I think a toggle between the two is the best possible solution. It lets the players who want to be Void Elves be Void Elves, and those who want to be High Elves, be High Elves. Obviously there is incentive/benefit to being a Void Elf, expressed through the racial.
Forcing people who want to play High Elves to turn blue every 10 seconds in combat doesn’t really make them Void Elves. It just ruins the immersion of those players.
Than their immersion was based on a lie since they know what they selected in the character creation sceen.
They shouldnt get high elves, its an option for horde players, if you want blue eyes and high elf hair color there is blood elves on horde.
Lorewise high elves really arent doing anything for their people, only blood elves have been mostly repopulating while high elves co mingle with humans and make half elves who hate themselves.
If devs statements have never reflected Alliance HEs to have any significant presence at all then I think it lends yet another argument that SC is not considered Alliance, they are a part of Dalaran and Dalaran is neutral.
So what? They are already alliance leaning, and hate the horde. It’s very simple to say they leave Dalaran to go full time with the alliance. If Blizzard can make void elves come out of literally nowhere, then the already Alliance leaning high elves joining the alliance doesn’t sound so bad.
The silver covenant has helped the alliance a lot. They have done more for the alliance than the other allied races so far. Even some main races like Pandaren. They are essentially honorary alliance members, and should at this point just be considered alliance. If anything were to happen and they were forced to pick a side, they’d go alliance. They are one easily written even away from this happening. So no point in debating this.
But this is where you’re wrong. Just because something can be offset from one faction, doesn’t mean that offset is going to be neutral like the Faction. It is a bad logic to go by to suggest that something like that is neutral because of another faction.
So, unless there is actual canon sources to say the SC are neutral, it is just fanfiction to suggest there neutral.
