Why does Blizzard hate Night Elves?

Just because they aren’t to your taste or vibe, doesn’t mean you can denigrate or discount the people who are disheartened by it.

Come on, i’m waiting Gnomes have it worse than Night Elves

It’s not about arrogance. It’s about avenging thousands of innocents that were burned alive out of pure hatred.

You guys are making me feel sorry for the night elves. It’s unfortunate but just consider yourselves the underdogs. Which isn’t that much of a bad thing. Now that I think of it the draenei have had a pretty rough run of things too.

ITT: Confirmation bias, Negativity bias, Backfire Effect, Belief bias.

We are the Army of the Black Moon.

When night falls and the Black Moon rises vengeance will be served!

Well everyone is a Villain in another person’s story. The quality of the motive means little to anyone but the outside viewer.

I do agree though, it would make her a compelling villain in that it is a realistic motive for a character. Killmonger in Black Panther was that kind of Villain, still the bad guy to the Hero characters and the population at large but you could at least see how that person would develop to think the way they do, to feel justified in what they are doing.

No. It’s more every race has it’s licks, but given all the lore and love nelves have been given since Classic. It’s just grating.

Yes, and I’m sure murdering innocent people will bring them back to life and make everyone happy for you.

Please list the great lore and story progression Darnassian elves AKA the playable NE faction has received?

I’ll be waiting.

We were not even able to get darkshore back, prevent or people from getting raised as undead and failed to defeat Nathanos.

And how about getting this disgusting horde scum out of our lands and reconquer what’s left of it?

Exactly! Me and my beloved Undercity Plague mount are completely innocent. It was all Sylvanas, all of it. If the Night Elves seek revenge against anyone else it’s literally evil incarnate.

Gnome lore and story progression is literally “Our leader appeared in a cinematic this expansion!”

Sit down.

At least when something happened to your capitol it was updated and reflected in-game.

I mean…you have like no army left.

Just following orders is not an acceptable defense. It never was and never will be.

Goblins are almost universally portrayed as New Jersey loan sharks. Night Elves have always benefited from the diversity of their society. Wardens, Demon Hunters, Druids, the Priestesses, and the Sentinels all have distinct flavors. I don’t see how any of that was lost in WoW. Maybe early WoW, but with Legion doubling-down on the identities of these subgroups and reinforcing them the night elf identity is stronger than ever.

All of which I would argue they have reclaimed because of the Burning of Teldrassil and the fire (literally) it lit in the hearts of the Night Elves. The Darkshore warfront is the first time in a long time that we get to see the Night Elves field an army and win. It brings back those WC3 feels, when they were at their peak. I will never fault BFA for that.

If in-game representations are all that matter to you, then the Night Elves haven’t actually lost Teldrassil; it’s still in-game. Completely intact, visitable whenever you want. Even in retail.

Gnomes have had to live much of their existence in WoW as refugees in someone else’s capital. Even today they still don’t really have their own despite being one of WoW’s OG races. Of course Gnomeregan counts! Why on earth wouldn’t it? If it bothers you that the lore says Teldrassil doesn’t currently exist (though the structure is still there and the city can be rebuilt) even though it doesn’t impact your gameplay, that’s a very silly thing to get upset about.

What are you talking about? Are you unaware that Tyrande and Malfurion were the main characters in Val’sharah? That Malfurion helped you cleanse the Emerald Dream? That Tyrande led the Sentinels against Elisande in Suramar? The two rulers of Darnassus?

What?

We even got to hang out with Maiev and the Watchers, see what they’re up to. That was one of the best parts of Legion.

Boss-level enemies are not on the same power levels of town guards. Would you have liked Malfurion to be nerfed to the level of a town guard just so he can defend against a Horde attack that isn’t even canon to begin with?

All something like this says to me is that you’d rather levy ad-hominem because you don’t have good arguments. Got it.

You should tell Anduin, Jaina, Shaw, Genn, rambles off list of all Alliance leaders Blizz’s writing staff…

I’d rather get no attention than only losing and sad moments.

Yup, because the alliance betrayed the night elves. They gladly take night elf armies, but if the night elves need help for once, they are always alone.

Ahn’Qiraji

Mount Hyjal and Vash’jir. All of Cataclysm with the Highborne and Malfurion

Warlords: Sira and the Wardens

Legion: The entirety of Val’shara, Azuna and Suramar. Not to mention a raid, class hall and dungeons.

BFA: Their own exclusive tragedy and attention, tons of fan-art and love. An entire patch focused partially on their vengeance, bringing Nelf-styled armor-sets, a new customization option and other things.

Gnomes, Dwarves and Worgen wish they had half the relevance of the Nelves. Heck, even the Draenei haven’t had much outside of Argus or Shadowmoon Valley.

Only getting beat up is not good attention. They even lost in 8.1 with their new powers
