I’m not sure “friends” is the right word.
Basically, the Titans have been telling us what our history is and why they’re important to it and, for the longest time, they were our only source of information. Now, they are not, and we have some good reasons to question what they’ve been telling us.
And, of course, there’s Odyn who, though not a Titan, did (amongst other questionable things) instruct that mortal races would not be told anything about the Dark Empire and the Old Gods.

Our relationship with the titans is probably best exemplified by Algalon.
Sure he’s an ally NOW, but originally the Titans just left a whole bunch of worlds to a cosmic bureaucrat who it took a planet’s inhabitants beating the tar out of before he considered “oh damn, these are PEOPLE I’ve been deleting!”
Like Iridikron points out, our relationship with the Titans is one of convenience on their part, they want the World Soul, and after the Algalon and Sargeras incidents, consider us capable of defending it well enough. They would have no issues attempting to delete us if they thought we were incapable of protecting the world soul (hell Algalon already tried)
And recently, we’ve started to learn that the Titans aren’t that great, their representatives kept a lot of secrets from us, there’s Odyn’s… everything, and if Vyranoth’s conversation with Alexstrasza is anything to go by, committed quite a few atrocities during their campaign to order the world
Essentially they’re allies of convenience, and if Iridikron is to be believed, our usefulness is starting to run out

Like, Iridikron making an deal with the void to lure the titans so he can kill them is absolutely a bad thing, but he’s not incorrect in pointing out that the titans would only be lured because their priority is securing the world soul

its not that they hate the titans… they just want to explore the idea that, it isn’t as simple as those guys are good, these other guys are bad.
they did the same with the light, despite what it seems, without anything standing in its way the light would have its light crusade in the same manner the legion did, to estabilish their light control and destroy those who oppose it.

Pretty dragon lady left a crap storm, never checked on it in for 1000’ s of years and now…its our problem.
