Why does anyone play Alliance anymore?

Because the races look nicer, and the city’s are beautiful. I don’t want to sit around in an ugly hut next to a steaming pile of dung.

My old raid buddies from MC-Naxx days play Ally so I have to make an appearance now and then.

It’d certainly be an easy question for a new player. For players who have a lot of established ties on alliance, and don’t feel like paying a large sum to faction xfer all their characters, it may be a little murkier.

An even better question might be why hasn’t Blizzard fixed this problem already.

I play both and honestly my horde raid team is struggling with roster issues so much this tier, it’s kind of crazy. Meanwhile my alliance team has a healthy roster of like 28 people. The key with playing on alliance is finding a good group of people to play with. If you’re going to pug, it’s just not going to happen.

But yeah mainly reason I play alliance is female draenei are the prettiest player model in the game. And I love Anduin. <3

No offense to the other Horde races, but half of the Horde’s intellect is contained in the Blood Elves and Nightborne (Goblins are pretty smart too).

I wonder if certain Horde races even know how to read?

And don’t you forget it.

The person that introduced me to the game played Forsaken, so that is the first thing I rolled. It did not speak to me and I think I rolled an orc next. It “died” fast too and then I rolled a gnome and have been Alliance eve since. I suppose it was the overall appearance of the Alliance that got me. It was a bit more like living in the civilized world rather than scraping by on a deserted island.

The races also looked better too, especially the female NE and the hot female Draenei when they touched down in TBC (and of course the better batch like yours truly from Legion). Using my keyboard to control walking cattle or creatures with a bad case of of scoliosis and in dire need of a pedicure was unappealing. I did eventually make a female BE (the only Horde combination I could stand - and also appear to be civilized) during Cata in order to do trading. I used a free boost from WoD and she has been rotting away in her campground since.

Also, I couldn’t give a Vulpera’s behind when it comes to the competition in raids, mythics, pvp and so forth (which is reportedly the Horde’s corner of the market). I did do some real raiding back in Wrath, even HICC and loved it, but never scheduled my life around it and did not keep a calculator and notebook by the computer.

I mean, Id love to play the alliance. Im so tired of Horde. Goblins and trolls are the only things making me stay here. But personally I would like to be a human again.

Join us. We have real buildings in our main city, not just mud huts.

Well worgen gear looks good on me too…

This sums up my experience as a Horde. Just change it to forum, mild RP, and spend too much money at transmogs

The poor-me attitude and general rudeness/arrogance of Alliance players probably dissuades players from the faction.

I have a blood elf…lvl 50…just cant bring myself to play her other than mount collecting…horde play is weird…the cities are weird…everything about it feels really strange, and awkward…
You don’t need an active guild to stay busy in this game. the only thing that’s good for is high end content…which is good for some…and not so much for others.
I do not have the desire, or the time, to invest in the drama that goes with the constant chase of the next big “thing”…for those that do, that’s cool…but for me…just not my thing. I think I have only seen the inside of 1 dungeon…and have not even thought about the raid…(s??) …
I love playing the game, and I do every single day…but I do it on my own terms…

It’s 2021 and you still care about whether or not you’re good at WoW.

Re-evaluate.

It’s 2021 and you’re still bad at WoW.

Yeah I don’t put effort into getting better at a dead game. And whether or not I’m good at WoW means nothing to my enjoyment of it.

You looking forward to filling up the new bar in the new zone? Hope you get the item you really really want in your weekly RNG box.

Also the Alliance doesn’t just have better lore, it has pretty much all the lore.

TLDR: Too many scummy human beings play Horde.

Back in vanilla, I wasn’t introduced to scamming until I leveled a Horde toon, and likewise, I had no idea how bad harassment could get.

As a newbie undead priest, I traded a rare agility dagger to a rogue I met in zul’farrak in exchange for his group helping me get a specific item (I think it was a cloth helm from the voodoo boss by the graves). As you can imagine, they promised to go back and kill the boss I needed after the pyramid and final boss… Needless to say they dropped me after they didnt need heals anymore.

It got worse though, I asked them why they did that, and got a whole bunch of thing like homophobic slurs in response. Made it a point to never group with anyone in their guild again… Several days later a group of players asked me to come with them, but they were from the same guild, and I told them that I didnt trust them, and explained why… The rogue and his friends were FURIOUS that I would refuse to group with his guild mates, and more so that I told others about what happened… This was really the start of the harassment; vague threats, more insults, etc. I put all of them on ignore at that point.

I even contacted a GM about the dagger, but the GM I got didn’t help at all; he said there was nothing he could do about trade disputes-- I even asked him to review the chat log to make sure there was nothing he could do, but being that my priest was only my 2nd character ever, I didn’t know harassment was against the rules… The GM claimed he found nothing in the chat logs to indicate any wrong doing on the rogue’s part.

Things only got worse from there. The rogue and his friends started sending messages to my guild and because I had him on ignore I couldn’t see those messages. And sometimes he would come find me in the open world JUST to slow me down (repetitive duel challenges, killing mobs I needed for a quest, etc), which was completely absurd on so many levels-- least of which being that he played the game SO MUCH that he was 10 levels above me at one point.

I gave up on the priest, and ended up playing a NE hunter until WotLK/MoP (didn’t play Cata), and then rolled this dk. I have never regretted leaving the Horde, and have NEVER EVER had an experience even remotely as bad while playing Alliance. Matter of fact, I have seen more than a few Alliance players go out of their way to help people out in situations like the above.
