I’ll potentially be worried if Blizz ever rereleases a reward that wasn’t just a participation trophy. Let me know when something like the old Challenge Mode cosmetics or black proto-drake are available again.

You answered your own question.
Because you were there at a specific time and the reward was given out to those that were.
A CE / TCG were never bound to a specific time, it´s a code you can still get today if you have the money.
This would be hillarious, it´s the only thing from Vanilla with the ZG mounts that I don´t have.
Still, I feel it would not be right, we gave the raptor to our GM back then as a sign of gratitude. When they removed ZG, a lot was lost and the AQ mount was there for the most dedicated guild on the realm, which we were not.
So ya,
some stuff should stay with those that earned it.

They’re little special rewards for people, it’s not like anyone looks at a baby blizzard bear and really wants a low-poly white bear when theres 500 other bear pets
It just takes little unique achievements away from people with really nothing in return
It also just further muddies the water on the item bloat WoW has

I thank Blizzard for giving players “exclusive” items. IMO after a few years, ALL items should be available to everyone. I say this is someone who’s obtained MANY exclusive items that I can 100% admit I DO NOT USE AT ALL. What’s the point? Flexing on stuff that means nothing?

I’m fine with more people having access to more fun items, regardless of how I got them.
Some achievements like the title from the warlock green fire quest make sense being locked because we can’t replicate the difficulty of the quest at the time, but I wouldn’t be upset if they opened that back up.
I also have the big blizzard bear mount and the baby blizzard bear pet from back in the day. I don’t care if more people get access to them if it means more people get to enjoy more things.
I guess it boils down to the fact that more people having those items does not impact how much fun I have by owning those items.

With all due respect, but if you truly experience fear because an item in a video game may be out of yor reach, then I do worry about you and I am damn serious here.
I want a permanent, non-BMAH version of the Brutosaur.

Core Hound Mount has been on the BMAH. It’s how I got mine sometime last year or so.

Titles and maybe gladiator mounts should be the only things left sacred and exclusive
Adding unobtainable things back like OG nax and ZG weapons should be a thing through either original content, tokens (like PvP saddles), or Timewalking.
Nothing that gets people farming and playing and excited to play is bad for the game. I don’t get people’s fake prestige

Lol. My achieving something and then it becoming a reward later doesn’t bother me whatsoever. Not to mention these exclusive rewards never took “skill” to get in the first place.

Play time didn’t matter. Existing at the time did. I wasn’t even active when I got that stupid motorcycle mount, for example. I played like 3 days of my month’s sub that came with a wasted WoD purchase.
Equity and dev laziness.
Equity or equality of outcome, we all get the same stuff regardless of effort, luck, skill, or outright length of playing the game. “It’s just not fair that some people have it!!!”
And Laziness. It’s easier to make a more enticing carrot by reissuing something rare than yet another mog, mount, or pet.
But it’s self defeating. Why play or put in effort for something special when they’ll give it out for far less effort eventually. Explicitly learned this with the fated raid mount from shadowlands that they handed out for next to nothing in dragon flight.

I disagree with OP. I have been playing off and on since game launch & was a vanilla beta tester. I welcome any return of removed content that I paid for. I think its bullcrap people cant still farm for the zg tiger like I did in wrath. Or farm T3 like people did in BC. I welcome all removed story lines, legendary items, mounts, mogs & challenges & those rewards, all to be returned. Its bullcrap at the end of each Era the devs pick something unique and cool to removed, never to be obtained again, for artificial prestige. The game needs more evergreen rewards and expanding access to older years rewards is good. I hope they don’t forget the other things like the plate variant of the helm of destruction that dropped from the 10 year molten core event. I have it, I wish more people could also get it. As a 20 year player, EVERYTHING should be obtainable.
