thus far its been spot on…but I’m gonna stay slightly optimistically delusional
pretty accurate i’d say now after the fact
and that last bit Ion railed on about “things being fundamentally broken and requiring rework from the ground up” was a script from the shadow priest community about void form, he just chickened out and used the paladin covenant ability instead as an example
Look on the bright side, at least you won either dollars or donuts?
You know what else is gonna suck about voidform?
Because of stat increases as the expansion moves on, Blizzard has to readjust voidform and shadow spell every major patch. This means that both holy and disc priest are gonna have to suffer with nerfs to shadow based spells like SW:Pain and Mindblast.
It always annoyed me that my disc priest would get SW:Pain nerfed every major patch. Now holy will have to deal with that crap too.
#removevoidform
extremely unfun to play. annoying, boring, visuals looks like crap.
#removevoidform
We just want to enjoy our spec again so please bring back WoD orbs
#removevoidform
It might be the wrong mindset but if everyone created a thread/topic with the title #removevoidform it should get attention right?
Maybe but when Blizz and Ion come out on multiple platforms and keep saying they are listeing to our feedback but completely do nothing and ignore us. people will get frustrated and disheartened.
Also we have not attack anyone we just leave our #removevodiform comment and leave its others who call us crazy, a rage mob, entitled, then try to play the victim.
#removevoidfrom
They have the ability to tune each spell differently on each spec, so this isn’t actually an issue any more. Hasn’t been for a while now. Multiple expansions, in fact.
This made me giggle.
And cry. Lots of crying.
I really hope they have enough time to remove voidform or at least confirm they will remove it next expansion and rework the spec.
There’s only one valid reason, they walled off too much power into voidform increasing it with the 3x chorus build. PvP is fairly tough with that. Hulk-out things are fun but they went too far with it. Well, also, the cast time. Entering void form should have zero cast time, even better off the GCD.
As a timed transformation it was fine. With increasing gear you could keep in form longer and longer and with endgame gear one was in it all the time. It only took 2-4 casts to get back into it.
Also - voidform did a job very well. Prior to voidform sPriests had a very bad problem for a very long time. The rotations were so boring. The class played badly, really badly. Where that most showed was in long bossfights, it made me want to scream sometimes. Boring boring boring. Voidform as a timed transformation that one could extend with better gear and playing, fixed that very well.
I’d argue ramp as a damage pattern is inherently flawed, and I never found “Press the same 3 buttons in the same order” with the reward of “Continue pressing the same 3 buttons in order” faster all that compelling.
It’s more than 3 and in most proper fights whether it’s pvp, raid, or m+ I’m having to relocate, constantly reassess the landscape, and move my butt nonstop. It is a far cry from before, prior to voidform. The spec had serious monotony issues.
Regardless, the same could be said of many other classes and specs and that’s not always a bad thing. There’s a lot going on in the game, once a spec gets crazy over-interesting it’s a bit of a cluster-f to play.
The problem with voidform is that it’s only viable in a raid boss encounter. In any content where you kill something faster than 2-3 minutes, you’ll always be weak. The ramp-up time is just too much. It doesn’t work. PvP, questing, dungeons…they all feel terrible as Legion/BfA shadow.
Guys why did we necro this lol
because it’s still a relevant topic?
Now this is just objectively wrong. You would be hard pressed to find a Shadow Priest who actually said this.
Yeah, no. The most recent example is draenor. You could setup (talent) for pvp and have a really dynamic high movement spec, it wasn’t the highest dps but it was interesting. For the full on raid spec though, it was a mindrending boring experience. There are echoes of this in other expansions, a bit why sPriests aren’t historically the most popular.
The voidform really saved the spec in some ways. It created this dynamic thing that you could see develop as one progressed their gear. Access to another instant, better movement, and no longer chained to dots == awesome.
However, they just made it carry too much water and without that endgame gear the class felt terminally clunky. Thing is though, … that’s a problem that goes accross many classes/specs. The design doesn’t play well until geared or mcguffined. Which is, in part, why classic was so successful. Classes worked at the onset and gear progression gave more incremental returns.
Yeah, no. i am going to have to disagree with you there especially if your example is draenor of all things. Very many ppl enjoyed pre legion shadow(the outcry is more than proof of that) and we did not at all find it boring, meanwhile your only examples are what YOU personally find boring. Its just Objectively Wrong, you arent being objective at all.
