Item inflation.
So, you would go back to having people suffer through the agonizing process of getting rejected and ignored for groups, and have content reserved for the small percentage elite again? I really do not want to go back to those days.
on one side:
elitists donāt like the non-elite to get gear-score
on the other side:
who cares.
To be fair in FFXIV you just have to spam a rotation and you cant die even of half the raid trolls. So it is prettyā¦ boring.
Itās more nuanced than that.
Something more like āTop players donāt care what gear other people have but donāt like seeing people vastly underpreform in what gear they have when the top players are grouped with them.ā
For example, at similar item levels a player that knows the instance and their role+spec can do well. Another player that doesnāt know or care to know things about the game or their character is doing 30% of the damage and none of the mechanics of the 1st player even though they are both at similar item levels.
This is why the M+ addon/site was made, to track things that gear couldnāt.
Agonizing? Just start your own group. Iām not sure how you had such a bad time. I sucked so bad and could get in groups with other people who sucked and we progressed in our own way. I didnāt kill Illidan while he was relevant, but every boss in SSC and TK that we killed was still satisfying.
I donāt hate dungeon finder, but raid finder I try avoiding simply due to the overwhelming amount of carelessness and toxic behavior of people acting like they can do no wrong. 10+ stacks of Determination isnāt a great thing to see when loading into the raid.
However, lfg does open up a huge chunk of the game to players that either canāt find groups/guilds or donāt have the time to do higher difficulty raiding or mythic+. Lfr DS back in Cata did help give me a slight grasp on what raiding even was.
i enjoyed that a lot, but itās hard to find a reason to keep doing that once you got a +10 of every dungeon -.-
The only ācontentā that was reserved for top players in Wrath was 25H mode or Ulduar hard mode until 3.3 released. Until then it was easy enough to join groups to clear Normal Naxx and Ulduar assuming you had the gearscore to do it.
Content hasnāt really been reserved for elite players since ā¦level 60 Naxx and raids after Kara in Burning Crusade. Thats why Naxx level 80 was made as āaccessableā as it was, so more players could clear content compared to the % of players that cleared any raid content in BC.

Itās like when Iām playing Monopoly. I land on Boardwalk with Hotels, and reach over to the bank and grab a few $500 bills. Sometimes people complain, but theyāre just elitists. I ask them why they care how I play the game? How does it affect them? Weāre just here to have fun.
So then you arenāt incentivized by harder content, you are incentivized by other rewards from the game.
Thats why there are so many ways to play WoW now, so it can appeal to the most number of players available.
Already told you, being a rogue on a low-pop server who could only play at late night hoursā¦it was never that simple. Most of the time when I tried to form groups, itād just be three DPS sitting there for an hour or two while I tried in vain to find that vaunted tank and healer.
I would have seriously liked to fight Vashj, Kael, Illidan, and Kilājaeden, all characters I knew and loved from WC3 that I played before WoW, but because of the way the game was designed there was never any hope for someone like me to do so.
Sums it up imo.
You sucking at this game makes other players enjoyment suck. If you donāt know what you are doing others need to compensate for you or you donāt get to do harder content (where players canāt compensate as easily).
Iām not trying to be mean, Iām just trying to explain a point.
I use both of these every time I see a call to arms up. That money is some decent money.
This. 1k gold and some AH stones for tanking a Heroic? Heck yes. (Also a chance at more xmog.)
Iām sitting on 6 stacks of those stones. I really should list some lol
Not yet. Wait until the 1st week of the new raid when people will pay hundreds more gold for each.
If you are out to make a profit, make one.
I know what you mean. I didnāt kill any of those guys while it was relevant but it would have been cool. Back then I always had that incentive to progress so I could kill them. Now we can just wait a month after the raid launches and get a kill without pressing a single button.
But I am happy you are having a better time with the game now.
Hmmmā¦ this is a good plan.
BFA dungeons seem really meh. I thought WOTLK, MOP and Legion had some decent ones
