Sorry, but it’s not anti-alt mechanics. It’s just the people not wanting to grind on each of their alts. My alts are functioning just fine with rank 1’s. It’s fine for what I do. If you do more, then more is required of you to get there. Would be better time spent in game than on board, yes?

Well, except your talking about two specific items. There are way more than two essences you have to get, and each of them are time gated in one fashion or another. This is on top of azerite armor with decent traits and levelling up your heart of Azeroth.
Also, suggesting essence are like gear isn’t a great comparison - if it was gear then you could simply replace it with the next tier of gear. No need to run battle or eternal palace to do Ny’alotha, right? But because of how they’re implement you have to do outdated content that, aside from the essence, isn’t really rewarding, or is just really grindy.
A better comparison would be that essence are basically like another row of talents. They’re designed to have an enormous impact on your class performance and in a way that far exceeds what pandaria’s legendary cloak or WODs ring did.
I think it would be better to keep current the essences the way they are and allow people that have already earned their essence last tier to purchase them for alts, make them account bound, expedite the acquisition way more than they have currently.
They could even make a BoA currency that drops in Ny’alotha or M+, that you can grind and buy Essences rank with and also use on your alts.

I dont mind you play multiple alts. Go on, have fun with your alts. It would really bother me to see tons of lowbie alts abusing rank 3 Essences. No way it would ever be fair.

No one cares if your alt is better than a main.
Blizz thinks essences are power progression and people work for power progression.
This isn’t changing. They’re done with BfA. Let’s stop spamming the forums and keep all of this to one megathread people can keep at the top of the list.

Simply put:
People who want multiple characters of equivalent power should be prepared to put in equivalent time/effort for them.

I don’t care for account wide, it would be nice, but they should have made the other essences catch ups less tedious.

Anymore than seeing a 410ivl with rank 3 OP corruptions? Essences aren’t even comparable to corruptions and these are RNG based. Essences round up nicely your character and make you see what your final build/rotation will feel like. They change JUST enough to be required and noticeable if you don’t have them. They could also just nerf essences and make them not mandatory. And full focus on corruption/ilvl/resistance.

I have the alts levelled that i would like to play but no account wide essences means I’m never going to do anything with them.

Yes there is. WoW is a game, yet the process of unlocking essences wasnt even fun the first time.
There is a very big reason why nobody is spending time re-unlocking essences on their alts, and thats because it sucks. Really bad.

And if you want those essences, go out and work for them. Grind grind grind. You may be a great player, I’m not discounting that, but that would definitely give your alts an unfair and unearned advantage.
I play many characters. Right now I am playing 9… maybe not as many as you. But if I was able to clear heroic raids on my main, I would not expect to be able to pass the essences to my alts and clear on all of them. Well I could really rack up the gold and gear, which is probably what is drawing you to this idea. Greed is strong.

Can you just use the free 6 or 7 essences you’ll get along the way? Or are you not able to meet heroic dps checks if you use meme beam instead of lucid dreams?

This is pretty much my ideal scenario. My effectiveness in m+/raids shouldn’t be affected by my desire to do bgs/arena or vice/versa.

I am against forms of end game character power being account wide.
There are other alternatives. Right now, essences is basically the only thing that an alt has to even work on more than a week.

We’re probably doing the samething on our multiple characters atm, wolrd quests, world bosses maybe a few m+. I just want more challenging things to do because that is the type of gamer I am.
But what is this about greed? I’m greedy with the fun i want, i’m not doing this for gold or w/e… I don’t even grind for gold, i just buy a token every 2 months or so to have enough gold for my mains raid consumables and passive gold. But thats not the point here.
I just wanna raid…

I am neither for or against account-wide essences. However I think you think way to full of yourself if you think this is why people are against it.

To which I have to wonder… How is replaying the exact same content you’ve already completed raising the game’s collective intelligence?
If it were dynamic and changing than I could agree… but rerunning static content that’s already been done before adds nothing. It just draws out more time…
Free? I don’t have them so I suppose they’re not as free as you think they are.

The only raiding an alt can’t quickly be ready for is mythic raiding. And even then an alt can quickly be ready for the first 3 bosses.
