I don’t think people usually really care about an alt being more powerful than a main.
It is the whole effort = reward thing in most cases I’d imagine.

If you already have a main with Essences and gear, with 6 months until Shadowlands, there isn’t any reason whatsoever why you can’t spend some time with an alt.
Account wide Essences would have been a lot more useful at the start of BFA, but at this point, the idea is becoming more and more useless by the month.

Nope, I am against you thinking you are entitled to essences which are really a BiS piece of gear because you earned them once on another character.
What will be your next cry for freebies be? That your alts should all get the same ilvl gear with the same top stats as your main because you did the M+ already?
What compensation are you suggesting for those who have already done the work to earn those essences you want for free, because you don’t want to do the work, on multiple Alts? Betting you don’t have one and really don’t care because it is all about you!

Do I want an ilevel 340 alt, aggro the whole village of mobs and melt all of them with his inherited rank 3 Focusing Iris? Does this alt with just 3 rings of Azerite gear, no Corruption deserve to have Rank 3 Essences?

It’s not about your toon vs. my toon.
It’s about enjoying seeing others waste their time doing tedious tasks in game that they’ve already done - rather than doing challenging content in game that is fun and requires skill.
We cry to the WoW Dev’s and ping them constantly on twitter and these forums to keep these boring and time-wasting systems in the game - and they do it.
You guys keep paying them money - so they just keep things moving along.

I’ve already done the grind twice almost 3 time. I’m not asking for free gear, I just want access to this unecessary time-gated blockade of passive power.
I’m not asking for best gear, i will grind my gear.
I’m not asking for cloak level, i will grind my cloak levels.
I’m not asking for corruptions, I will wait for the RNGeesus.
I will do the raids and I will clear them, I will grind those things.
But essences? thats old stuff that makes no sense anymore and is just added weight that demoralize me as soon as I log on to an alt.
I got AOTC on my rogue, I want to start working towards that with my alts until the end of BFA. I will start with LFR > Norm and low M+. But essences? naga plz.

I think the argument is about effort. Some folks want to get their highest essenses on all their characters by putting the effort into one character. Other folks feel if you what those high level essences on all your character put the time in to get them that high.

It takes 1 day to get to 430 ilvl, what are you doing? get to 8.3 content already.

BS you aren’t! That time gate is basically the same “time-gate” you go through working your way up to higher M+ keys. You just think by claiming it is questing time-gate you’ll get more sympathy!

Those essences are the same as all those thing you say you aren’t asking for!

Aw, thanks for noticing me. 
The problem with essences is that you have to do content completely unrelated to the activity you enjoy. Instead of account wide essences, all essences should be obtainable through all content. If players hate WQs and rep (I know I do) then all essences should be obtainable through M+ so I could actually enjoy the grind.

Not at all. I think making them account wide is further dumbing down of a game that is dumbed down enough.
