I main a tank at 70, there are a lot of god awful tanks in the game. I never understood the entitlement people get playing it, at SM level you literally overgear it and overpower it with a 3 button rotation and if the entire party asks you to do something you should do it.
Ignoring the party and having it disband due to your ignorance is the sign a player is awful.
Give it a try if you think it’s so easy.
With every word you post, you look more and more like a salty, hateful person that most people wouldn’t wanna tank for anyway.
I’m not saying you ARE that way….you just kinda come off that way.

I have a 70 tank, I do SWP.
Most of the people here defending this trash tank are people who literally never even played a tank in their life, they follow some weird idea that somehow picking this role makes your immune to criticism.
If your entire party is telling you to play differently and you choose to powertrip and play your own way, yes you are the problem and we all left after because of him.
I even got whispers from all the other party members agreeing with me, the tank in the situation was a literal man child but it seems this community is not that much more mature.
No, we aren’t immune. It’s just that there’s no merit in complaining about a slow tank. Different people have different skill levels and the best thing you can do is go at his pace, kick him, or deal with it till the run is over.
This thread literally had no merit and is basically just a “dear diary” post.
Everyone can’t be Mr “Johnny awesome”.

We asked the tank why he pulled a single pack, he could’ve said he was new to the game and didn’t know and that’s fine he can pull slow.
Instead his response was that he was tank so magically he sets all rules as if the other 4 people don’t matter.
He straight up power tripped in a 15year old lv 30 dungeon that he outgrared.
Sorry but not only did I call him out, so did everyone else and we all ended up leaving.
That’s how bad the tank mindset is, they get so prideful playing their role they would rather see the party die than change their ways.
So you got a bad tank? Is it really that big a deal?
Just swap out tanks next time.
It’s not that it’s a big deal or not a big deal, I’m just sharing my frustration about it because the experience I had isn’t isolated.
Like I said I main a tank myself, I’ve seen tons of groups with bad DPS or healers and so I understand the tank’s side of the situation too.
But the comments in this thread are not nuanced at all, they don’t even understand why the tank could be wrong they just focus on blaming everyone else which only reinforces the tank diva mindset.
wouldn’t want to group with you, you seem pretty insufferable

I think it’s because tanks can be hard to find and they get more “behavioral leniency” because of it.
That doesn’t mean you have to play with them though.
Tanks AND healers should be helped whenever possible because their jobs are more stressful than a dos role.
Ok? Lmao, comments like this are mad emotional, you don’t even know me. Delusional people all over these forums.
I mean yeah I completely agree, but I was just taken aback by so many comments just blindly siding with a tank regardless of how bad they are simply because there’s a shortage of them, I just hate that the community reinforces it as some type of special role when it’s really just like any other role.
I can definitely agree with you on that…I tried to learn to tank in wrath…even made a macro explaining I was a new tank…didn’t matter.
I went back to dps.

It’s more stressful than a dps role and that’s why you don’t see many tanks.
It’s the same thing for healers. Most people just wanna turn off their mind and grind dungeons.
Older content is alot harder with mobs.
Its not like mythic plus.
If you go into classic with the mindset you and your friends will be stuck in nax while every cleared ulduar.
Wrath is literally the easiest content in the game, you can complete heroic dungeons as green geared level 68s on the beta and more than half the specs are all 3-4 button rotations.
Wrath was literally the START of WoW going casual, if anything it’s more retail than any of the other two expansions.
SM during pre patch is piss easy, everyone was overgeared and despite multiple people asking him to pick up pace he stood there and kept going off about how he sets the rules so we just left.
Holding a group hostage in 15 year old content because you want to feel special is toxic.
Back in TBC in Wrath our main tank was our raid leader which is most often the case but when we ran heroics with him I think we should have gotten achievement for how fast a pace he would run those heroics and he never got upset when someone was having a hard time keeping up he would just slow it down a little but still very fast paced.
One of the best tanks I ever had the privilege to have as a main tank and raid leader, I can honestly say only one other tank compared to him as a raid leader and main tank.
bro, my comment was pretty nuanced.
you expect nuanced comments, but you are condescending, rude and generalizing.
What. Did. You. Expect?
I mean literally 60 minutes ago i was in bfd as a dps, our tank was the biggest diva ever, and refused to tank anything more then what is on the most direct way of his needs in the dungeon (skipping bosses and quests even), so well, we just did it our self. no bad words, no one made a whiny forum thread… we just accepted that the guys a diva, and did a bad job. such things happen. in another dungeon i had a warlock that did like 2% overall dmg. again, nobody even bothered.
you either cant stand playing with people you deem noobs, then you leave or kick them, or you accept your fate, but for gods sake then sont start such a big fuss about it.
honestly i dont even get why this bothers you so much.
Under the premise that everything happened as you described, the tank was super slow, the healer bored out of his mind, and the dps doing deathrolls to avoid falling asleep, then what has really happened? Somebody played suboptimal. OMG!
Such shocking news, stuff like this happened? I cant believe it.
You know, its literally a necessity of our existence that someone exists that plays bad. How is this a thing to get so mad about?
And im not even talking about reasons for such gameplay. what if someone is having a really bad day, a disability, is old as a stone, or is just plain stupid. Is this something that should allow you to judge them???
You have the freedom of choice to chose with whom you play. Use that freedom, and dont cry about someone not fitting your standarts.

Bro. If i hold someone hostage, the person literally is… as the term implies, held hostage.
The fact that you just left the group is basically proving your statement wrong.
You literally can not hold someone hostage in a situation like you described.
And honestly, if i wouls to cherrypick who wants to feel special, i would judge you guilty. One wants to do the dungeon slowly, which i actually would not like aswell, but the other

And this is why theres a tank shortage. If he pulls to many, bad tank slow down. Pull to few, bad tank speed up. Ive got 2 tanks and you couldnt pay me to tank for a pug group.

Whenever I encounter a dps like that I will make sure to avoid threating the mob they are on or just pick up the agro that the other dps pull until the offender gets smacked enough to shut up.
That bubble hearth had to feel satisfying though! GJ

Imagine your response to criticism being to ruin the entire group and leave.
Tank players are actual man children lmao
