I will say without a doubt that FFXIV is the better made mmorpg with a better team making it. Its still a lesser game overall in sheer amount of content but tbh everything in WOW that isnt SL or BFA is irrelevant other than nostalgia.
FFXIV wasnt always better imo, really it was shadowbringers that tipped it over the edge.
Im starting to think that blizzard is going to pull a diablo 3 on their competition…and allow them to permanantly surpass them as leaders in the industry just like they let path of exile go from an unfinished desync ridden mess of a competitor to unquestioned ARPG king all while blizzard release zero new content for D3…and at this point i dont even know what D4 could even bring to the table to best POE and now POE2 is coming.
Still FFXIV isnt as good as people who have just started and are doing the whole new game honeymoon phase is. Its just in better hands and in a better state where it knows exactly what it is, the players love what it is, and the devs are doing well focusing on what the players want. I cant say that about this game.
But if blizzard has never really been in the position where a competitor could even touch them, they need to start bringing their A game fast or FFXIV will.
Just pointing out you were very incorrect about most Square cash shop items being in-game before. I still wonder why they would take something that was free in-game and move it to a cash shop, though. Seems like typical corporate greed to me.
I’d be curious what the reaction would be if WoW did the hairstyle scam and gender locked behind another expac things. I doubt it would be handwaved as “grasping at straws”. It’s a bad look for any company.
I do play it. Might be hard for you to understand but some people are capable of playing multiple games without forming a tribal connection and need to defend it from criticism.

I’m not asking you to play FFXIV or whether you play multiple games, I’m asking you to leave WoW. Your criticism isn’t criticism. You moan and complain without offering anything of substance in the form of suggested changes, and when you do, the ideas are abysmal at best.
Also, what’s the peak content you’ve finished doing in WoW? Heroic Dungeons? Is that all the knowledge you’re basing your argument of WoW failings on?

Answer the question: what’s the peak content you’ve achieved in WoW? You complain about it so much, surely you must’ve seen everything to make that argument that WoW is bad as a whole.
What?.. They release new content every few months. If I’m not mistaken, they just released a new raid, new set of MSQ and a couple new dungeons in the past two months.
A content drought is what WoW has… with no new content for over a year.
I’m not sure why people boost in FFXIV… it really doesn’t take long at all to max out a class.
Store mounts / armor… why wouldn’t they make some extra cheddar on fancy pixels - it doesn’t impact the game in any way.
Story skips… you have to have story to have a story skip. That is the reason WoW doesn’t have it.
Also, most people in WoW are toxic / elitist dbags who think that they are the best thing to happen to gaming since a joystick. Most people in FFXIV, at least in my experience, have been extremely pleasant and usually jump all over people who are toxic.

3. We get this for free in WoW, it’s just time gated…usually…
4. FFXIV is gearing up for a new expansion by the end of the year, the current game is on maintenance mode till then.
I think the reason to why people don’t harp on SE for this is because the community harp on each other for buying into points 1-3, and 4 is just hand-waved by YoshiP with “if you have nothing to do, un sub.”
Wow has character boosts. Or are you ignoring that? Story skip for people who wanna do endgame and don’t care about narrative story content you have to do. WoW also has store mounts, its suddenly bad when FF14 has it but not wow? And content drought happens in every game, even wow.

you don’t think people who really play final fantasy don’t complain lol. idk it’s just different there but you know dang well people ain’t happy with alot. i play it only reason i won’t go full time cause there combat is garbage to me. why all these mmo’s have came out thru the yrs and always have garbage combat is beyond me. people seem to not use forums there why i really don’t care. unhappiness is everywhere in every game and if you listen to posts here that are made to just rile people up thats your fault.
What if it is? There was a time when Heroic dungeons were the endgame for 90% of the playerbase. The fact that you consider that player’s opinion invalid now is precisely the reason WoW is going down the tubes. You just made his point for him with your nonsense.
On the contrary, I’ve argued that he complains about a game which he has minimal understanding of at best.
And his opinion was invalid to me even if he was 10/10M because it’s one that states FFXIV is better without stating why, all the while he refuses to leave WoW for good and stay there. If you don’t like WoW, you can either suggest changes and prepare for the scrutiny (which Blizzard deals with daily) or you can leave.
