Why do people ignore FF14's issues?

These are the same thing in WoW. in FFXIV, they are split because each character can be every job so having a singular boost would be like paying for 1 boost and getting every class in wow at lvl 50.

FFXIV just released it’s final patch of it’s current xpac and has already given the release date of it’s next xpac which is less time than between the typical last patch of WoW and next xpac.

Don’t get me wrong, FFXIV has flaws, and I will agree with people when they bring up those flaws, but most of the things wow players call “flaws” aren’t really flaws, or are things that WoW also does.

Example of FFXIV flaws.

PvP.
Xmog collection.
The slog that is ARR that every new player has to go through.
The way their inventory system is set up.

The FFXIV devs will tell you if you’re not having fun or you’re feeling burnt out to please stop and take a break and come back later when you’re ready. They’re not in the mindset of keeping players attached as long as possible.

I mean they also gave a reason for it beyond that. They said before Shadowbringers that, Shadowbringers was most likely going to be the last time they were going to add new races to the game. So because they only had time to do 1 race, they decided to do one gender of two different races.

That said, they have already announced male vierra will be added with Endwalker and female Hrothgar at a later point when they are finished.

If you really wanted to make a fuss about Vierra you could have come up with something actually controversial like Vierra and Hrothgar only having access to a few helmet options in game.

I mean the male blood elves do look more girly than the females.

that’s generally from people’s inexperience in any class whatsoever so they compensate it with the nearest thing they do know by reflex; femininity

Are you trying to say I’ve never played a blood elf?

WoW has this, most people do not use it.

Now tell the truth, its Store mounts/Glam it is not Armor. And WoW has this too.

Because you need to have a cohesive story in order to have a story skip?

Yes, but it’s still busy.

What is it with all these silly posts which aren’t even factual? You play wow, that’s cool you enjoy it. I know you feel threatened by that other game, and that’s… sad to be honest.

I wanted to address your bullets as I feel that is probably a good spot for the discussion.

WoD wasn’t housing anymore then the current “covenant upgrades” or “class hall” upgrades were. The majority of choices you made in WoD for your garrison were either 1 or the other; housing requires that your home has personality and is customized for you - not just that its a building with some walls. FF 14 housing is a good example of that - LOTRO was as well and if done right it augments ALL other gameplay experiences with things like trophy rooms and guild halls.

Everyone thinks they are smarter then everyone else. The DK forums are ones that I can speak to as 2 handed frost/ Petless unholy are two very hot button issues that are often discussed - someone will always take issue with it. To be fair I think a lightning mage would make more sense then and storm shaman - because all the Shaman specs tend to straddle multiple elements; where as mages tend to do more “stay in your lane” with their specs.

I disagree; I think its more that blizzard seems to only care about consistency with its idea’s that people seem to dislike. For me its mission tables - I feel its a failed idea to encourage players to install the phone app so that blizzard can send push notifications to players to keep WoW on their minds; to be frank I find the concept of mission tables kind of lame (and how the covenants essentially hand over leadership to you when you join up). I think there are concepts WoW players liked (example I think generally everyone likes LFD and Transmogrification) but also concepts we hate (new talent system; excessive timegates/maybe mission tables?) I think its more the fact that many WoW players are considering having an affair with the neighbor. They have committed a lot to WoW - but it seems like its all the same day in and day out; they feel that when they try to talk it out that nothing is changing and so they are really sticking around for the kids (their characters) but everyday that neighbor that is the almost identical to their spouse silloettes through a window; seems to be a bit more interesting and a bit more mysterious…so people try SO hard to convince themselves about faults that their current spouse has…to justify cheating on them (going to FF 14)

Its a weird world with how devoted people are to MMO’s

People ignore facts when it doesn’t fit the narrative or agenda they are trying to push.

3 of these aren’t real issues. I genuinely do not care if people chose to use character or story boosts and I don’t care about them in WoW or classic either. Does not effect my experience of the lore or game in any way shape or form. Also the store glamours are way better than anything WoW’s ever given us lol. The clothing actually has 3d assets!

To be honest…I am flabbergasted by the cost of race and realm changes in WoW.

Because these things don’t matter.

When the game is fun. When you can play all classes on one character. When the rng loot casino isn’t nearly as bad. When players’ time are actually being respected. When they theme of their game isn’t “punishing, restrictive, and limiting”… then choice is clear.

The people who complain about them probably.

Also clarification here

This is factually inaccurate.

The boost in FFXIV is cheaper than wow, but it’s not 1/3rd the cost.

To get basically the same thing out of WoW’s boost… a character leveled and at the point to be ready to start current content

in WoW is $60

in FFXIV you need to buy

Tales of Adventure: Stormblood for $25, which skips you all the way through the Stormblood story ready to start Shadowbringers

Tales of Adventure/Main Scenario Progression | FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store

but 1st you need to buy one of these

Tales of Adventure/One Hero’s Journey | FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store

So you can have one of your jobs be level 70 so you can actually start Shadowbringers which is another $25

So all in all to boost in FFXIV it is $50, compared to $60 in WoW. Again, cheaper, but not 1/3 the price.

I find it weird how many “wheels” WoW has…sometimes I wonder if its some alien plot that doing dailies somehow mines crypto for blizzard lol.

when does it get fun what level?

Most people generally agree that about level 50 is when the pace of combat finally feels like it’s picked up. Story wise you need to get through A Realm Reborn and into Heavenward.

that is a horrible pace

Yes, I will not try to blow smoke up your posterior. ARR is a slog and the game does start out slow. I will say that imo and the opinion of many other people the slog is worth getting through. You may come to disagree in time, you may decide to quit right now. I won’t blame you either way. It’s not a game for everyone.
