Where are my non-Haste tier pieces, again?
I can’t seem to find where to get 4 of those.

From what I remember it wasn’t really hated, but blizz in their usual fashion constructed a scenario that only a few people, if any did and axed it. Something along the lines of getting a new piece of gear meant you had to leave the raid to gem and enchant it and reforge it before you put it on.
Weird, i never had to do any of that, i just researched (for free) my stat priority n the caps for em then reforged accordingly, which took a minimal amount of time.
Looks like you got ripped off, fren.
i heard a lot of hate for war/titan-forging but never for reforging.
i did skip mop though.
a compromise could be to allow it for weapon(s) only, maybe. i can manage to farm the gear/stats i want on most slots but weapons are a little more infuriating for some reason.
The argument for its removal is because it was an “extra step” after obtaining the item (typically via a drop) before you could actually use it.
Of course, this was coupled with the earliest iteration of the gear upgrade system (just 2-4 steps above the base drop item level, much less than the current version) and enchants for (nearly?) every slot. There’s surprisingly little difference from what’s in the game now, and it was actually less extensive back then (particularly the upgrades part).
There really wasn’t much hate for the reforging system… among the playerbase.
I think it was mostly Blizz that took issue with it. Players were neutral at worst.
I was thinking this, too. I never had to use a 3rd party or other fancy stuff. Just research your class/spec and learn how the stats affect your abilities to establish the priority, know the caps, and adjust accordingly. No need for plugging stuff into a program or something.
A better question why do people care so much for bringing it back?
If you had reforge today and you may increase your haste by 2% and lower your vers by 2% assuming those are your best jd worst stats.
Your overall performance wouldn’t be impacted in any meaningful way and that small increase doesn’t matter to anyone except the top world first or key players
Maybe the complaint should be why does brewmaster have a stat that’s literally useless.
Tier pieces have all sorts of stats because different specs and builds have different stat weights.
I know. That’s why we need reforging.
This could have been answered with a simple google search.
Idk who told you otherwise, but this isn’t the way it worked btw.
So maybe tone down on the sass since you clearly weren’t playing until after mop.
You would only ever use it on some of your 4 tier pieces which would only net you what 400 of some stat? Why add a system that’s only going to be used on 1-2 pieces of gear
Players liked the system for the most part, but it was sort of disruptive. Players would leave to go reforge their stats and possibly reenchant everything because it pushed them over a break point. A lot of players were entirely dependent on the ask mr robot website. Reforging was fun, but it definitely was problematic.
Nah, every stat increases your damage. Reforging is an unnecessary chore and complication we don’t need in our gearing now.
Exactly, I think if someone sat down and simmed themselves and then simmed again after a “fake reforge,” they would find the difference something like .5% maybe 1% at most
I thought reforging was great. It served as a type of bad luck protection for when the piece you really wanted refused to drop. You could take what did drop and make it passable.
Think of all the people complaining about bad vaults. M+ players are generally reliant on one of the three pieces in their vault being an upgrade for their gearing progression. One chance at one piece per week and its possible all of the options will be useless or repeats. Getting a bad vault really hurts and leads to many complaint threads.
If they brought reforging back then the vault would be much less painful. That awful ring becomes decent. Those useless boots become passable. Bringing back reforging would go a long way towards making the vault less feast/famine.
I’d kill to have reforging back. Would love to be able to adjust stats to be better balanced towards what I want on pieces I’m having trouble replacing (rings, in particular).
Would also mitigate some of that “oh, this piece sucks for me, but it’s an ilevel upgrade so I can’t trade it to you, person who this item is BIS for”.
People didn’t hate reforging… Unless the community have gaslighted itself into hating it.
Blizzard regretted it because it made people gear faster.
“People” don’t, Blizzard does because it keeps you off the hamster wheel.
You say that as if this isn’t still a thing. Look at any guide online and you’ll see the line “sim yourself”.
