Again, you can’t have this both ways. You brought it up, that’s the natural counter-argument. Don’t like it? Tough.
Because Pathfinder is fun.

With Pathfinder we spend the first half of the expansion on foot where we feel at risk and in danger.
-
And then we spend the second half of the expansion in the air where we can bypass content, travel super-fast and explore easily.
This creates a large sense of forward power progression… where we feel much stronger in the second half of the expansion. That’s a good thing… forward power progression is important in an MMO.
And when we do finally get flight, the developers have the satisfaction of knowing we didn’t skip content. And the players get a nice sense of accomplishment.
Are you being intentionally obtuse or do you really not understand what was written?
You: No one agreed to it.
Me: We did as evidenced by our sub.
No one agreed to it is false. Some of us did agree to it and continue to agree to it. Whether that is 1 person or 2 people or 5 million people. Someone agreed to it.
No, it’s the ease of being able to just buy it and not have to deal with blizzard’s new and improved way of acquiring it. Let me farm gold the way I want like before and just purchase it.
I’ll be more literal next time, so you have nothing to cling to, then.
They aren’t true WoW fans. A true fan recognizes the flaws and mistakes so that the devs can make the game better.
The most logical answer I can come up with is that they find the requirements trivial and/or incidental and/or something they’d do anyway, and they basically want to show off their vanity “watch me cheat that switchback” status for those of us for whom the process is in no way integrated into our normal gameplay and too much of a pain to even justify. It would be at least as bad as grinding an AR, if they took that AR away from you at the end of the expansion.
I am literally not mad that flying doesn’t exist anymore. Because if pathfinder is the only key, it might as well not exist anymore, for me anyway. I got over it sometime in WoD I think. Can I get a druid glyph for travel form that’s not a giant elk or a 20 polygon vanilla cheetah at least?
Learn to write in non-absolutes. Remember you don’t speak for Everyone.
When you make pronouncements like that, you Will get pounced on. That’s what this forum does - we don’t tolerate falsehoods that people try to imply was truth.
That’s adorable, considering how the entire argument being responded to was based on some people speaking for everyone, apparently.
Is that or not flying, at all, nothing we can do to be honest
Please do then. The people who quit did not agree to it. That is correct, but as we do not know how many of them there are, or if they exceed the number of people who do agree, there is no point discussing them.
And before you mistakenly latch on to something due to lack of comprehension: I am not saying more people play than quit. I am saying we do not know how many people quit explicitly because of Pathfinder.
Yup which is why a newbie player will have no shot of having flying available in shadowlands from level 10 to 50 as they are forced to level in BFA zones. Meanwhile most smart veteran players will choose, BC, WotLK, Cata, and MoP zones to level in shadowlands for their alts.
People: i have so many alts its nice not having to pay gold for all of their flying
Also people: we have too much gold, its worthless !
I don’t defend it, but I also don’t see it as being that big of a deal either. The only problem I have with it is that it’s just an example of the devs throwing a fit about not being able to get rid of flight.
But I would also watch what you wish for. In BC the fastest flight cost 5,000 gold. That was no small amount at the time. And that was after have to buy your ground mount, and I think you had to have epic ground mount to get the first level of flying. I’m not sure what 5,000 would be in todays gold, but I’ll bet it would be over a 100k.
If it were up to me, I’d have flying earned when you hit max level and finished each zone. But I don’t see that happening with this set of devs.
I responded directly to the OP but your comment was egregious enough to warrant a response.
But you’re a known troll so there’s that.
Indeed and one day it would be nice if someone actually admitted they were being hyperbolic rather than attempt to imply I am arguing a point I never actually made.
I’m trying to lord over other players because I’m fine with “grinding” out (actually just doing normal content) rep for flying?
What a strange time we live in.
I’m clearly a Pandaren, but that wouldn’t be the first wrong thing you’ve said here.
Disagreeing with you doesn’t make someone a troll, welcome to reality.
Said nobody.
You weren’t even disagreeing with Me. Your comment was a trolling statement:
That line was a tactic inclusion of everybody not agreeing to Pathfinder. Our only agreement in this is that we accepted it and kept playing. Obviously some people agreed which makes your statement false. That’s all I’m talking about.
Exactly. I don’t want it to be for gold again because I think it would be a couple hundred thousand after WoD/Legion and I have better uses for my gold.
