Why do people defend pathfinder?

Money talks, when their sub numbers keep dropping they will listen. You enable them by going with the flow.

I’m fine with PF1. It’s relatively easy to acquire and is just done by playing the base game. It also fits in with the idea of learning the lay of the land, learning to deal with the inconveniences and the best ways to overcome the relatively simple obstacles, and earning the trust of the natives. But PF2? No… That’s just arbitrary and annoying…

Give us the direct path to flight from day 1. Don’t dangle it on the signature blizzard soon™.

If you are going to go down the path of allowing flight to be purchased for gold. I’m fine with that… So long as you make the gold requirement relative to what it was prior. As in… expect to spend 1-2 million gold per character.

Why do people not defend pathfinder? What’s that, you gave your answer a 100 times? So have we.

Because in what universe do other people have the gall…the temerity, I say!..to disagree with me?!

maybe, but I’m not going to unsub from the game I otherwise enjoy because I hate that Pathfinder is a 2 part achievement.

I think cutting off your nose to spite your face is dumb.

Not a supporter of pathfinder. Not only does it suck to have such delayed flight, but it entirely shifts the incentive of farming reputation.

MoP had so many factions. And you know what? I liked taking the time to get exalted–to get the epic mount that not everyone else took the time to! I went at my own pace in my own order, and I enjoyed it. Ya, I enjoyed dailies.

Nowadays, with it being required… Hit exalted, get the mount everyone else has. Do it because it is mandatory…as fast as possible to not be left behind! Now, that rep no longer has purpose, so keep doing it for a chance at an RNG mount or toy! Do it or you’re missing out on the norm!!

It’s not even just flight that is screwed up from pathfinder… it’s the entire setup of world content.

So…down with pathfinder!!!

Personally I don’t defend pathfinder because I think its awesome or anything. I’m just not wasting my energy complaining about something I know they won’t budge on. Whether I fly on day 1 or not isn’t really a selling or breaking point to me.

It’s a compromise because they were going to just straight up remove it before people went nuts.

Some of us like earning things and not just handed them

I rather do something I would normally do and get the Pathfinder achievements, then mindlessly grind for money in order to buy it… on every single alt… I remember a time when I couldnt buy flying in Pandaria because I ran out of gold. Well thats great for alts. :+1:

At least with Pathfinder I unlock it on every character and can fly while leveling.

The only thing I dont like is the time gating and wish they would have Pathfinder 1 unlock flying for x.0.0 or maybe x.0.5 and Pathfinder 2 unlock the areas added in patch x.1.0 and so on.

The time gate.

It’s not a compromise if only one party gets a say in it - it was an emergency response to the massive sub loss due to their stupid decision. Nothing more. Nobody agreed to this.

that’s the only issue i guess.

We did get a say in it. They wanted to flat out remove it, our say was the massive out lash, their compromise was pathfinder. Also PF was specifically put out by the community during that outlash as a compromise. There was a huge thread about it.

“An implied accceptance is one that is not directly stated but is demonstrated by any acts indicating a person’s assent to the proposed bargain.”

We still pay/play.

Highly debatable for WoD/BFA.

Citing people who quit aren’t a part of the discussion. We who are still here agree to it every day by continuing to play. If we don’t agree with it, we should cease playing.

When discussing sub counts, yes they are.

You can’t have it both ways, here.

Nah, we just complained about the cost of epic flying for all the alts. If you got fast flying on your main, it was insufferable to fly slow on alts. Huge HUGE costs involved. In Mists, I made my alts earn their own flight training cost.

Pathfinder’s great for those of us who are frugal about spending WoW gold. I mean I still have millions from Warlords but not having to spend it on 15 chars flying is a big savings.

Oh and flying when we first got it in TBC was okay until my friend wanted to do the Netherdrake rep. Had to buy epic flight first - 5k. I had to borrow 800 gold to afford that. And then sell all my heal gear to buy a fast flier. That was the suck being totally broke like that. That’s what no pathfinder will do to a lot of people who can’t save gold for nothing.

I am not discussing sub counts. You said no one agreed to it. That is false. You and I and anyone else still subbed all implied agreement to it or we would no longer be here.
