M+, RWF, pretty much.
KSM/KSH is generally doable in 1-2 weeks, hardest at the start but way easier later because of gear power creep, even as a no-history pug player on a non-meta spec.
All that matters is being persistent and capable, and that covers 99% of players. Pushing higher always has its own hurdles but they aren’t insurmountable.
I think it’s more people who pugged a dungeon, and Somebody Else Was The Hero.
So they didn’t feel like the most important person in the world, and that’s simply unacceptable.
Me, when somebody makes a run easier: “Okay.”
Some other people, when somebody makes a run easier: “NO! I have to be The Hero!”
They really shouldn’t be playing multiplayer games at all.
If someones blows me out of the water in performace in a m+ run. Im looking at details and warcraft logs to see what they did so I can get better
I agree I dont think ksm or whatever is a huge achievement, it’s really dobale.
I get timegating thinks like raid release and the marks to craft good items. But for god sake I can’t believe they timegate heroic, mythic+, pvp and the friggen story line campaign.
Like the most basic bare bones content that people payed at minimum $80 for is time gated… blows my minddd
Like is their really that little of an amountnof content that they feel the need to timegate to make ot seem like theirs more
Holding back on M+ makes a ton of sense.
I’ve been a Cutting Edge raider for the last 10 years.
Right now? I’m 3 days into the expansion and still trying to figure out where everything is. I need time to get my bearings.
If M+ was open now, I would have to be running M+ dungeons 16 hours a day until the start of the season, because Blizzard would tune the raids around that.
Until M+ becomes a separate section of the game (like PvP is), it needs to stay locked away in its cupboard until later.
Didn’t the OP also complain about people being bad in DF?
Those things were always locked though, it gives people time to go through things at their own pace and to prepare for when the things are released. I spent last night getting a full honor set and have been steadily upgrading my PVE set to be as ready as possible to go right into the grind.
People were throwing Tantrums because of Early Access getting a few extra days to level, imagine what would happen if you could have had an extra piece of myth track gear from it by not locking the best gearing methods for a few weeks from launch.
Feels like an exaggeration. I first started playing the game halfway through season 2 in DF got ksh and aotc pugging. Sure you’re at a disadvantage but you’re not the only one either. Plenty of players would be at your level of progression or willing to help.
Sounds like a you problem, and also not something you HAVE to do, but something you choose to do. You could probably do normal / heroic raids in green questing gear and do just fine.
Next time a streamer gets famous running normal dungeons, you let us know.
Years of being conditioned to play this game in a hyper-competitive manner, it’s simply the culture WoW has developed over the years due to Blizzard’s direction.
There is a pretty good video by Folding Ideas called “Why it’s Rude to Suck at Warcraft” that goes in depth about this.
Why should Blizzard pander to one group and the expense of everyone else?
Simple. Because Blizzard has, through gameplay decisions, reinforced and incentivized this sort of mindset. Other games in the genre are more D&D, while WoW has simply become a murderhobo simulator that does the bare minimum to maintain the RPG in the acronym.
it is a race at least in the gold making world. theres no gold if ur late to the party
Full offense taken, you come off as very patronizing and the fact that you didn’t use multiple paragraphs hurts my eyes.
First of all, I am not forcing myself to do anything. Blizzard are the ones forcing us to go through this nonsense with every new expansion before we can actually get to the good parts. The leveling experience in WoW is akin to that obnoxious plastic packaging that’s sealed by being melted together and can only be opened with scissors and major elbow grease. That doesn’t mean what’s inside isn’t worth it but the effort to get to it is unwarranted.
Many aspects of the game are a chore but that doesn’t mean others aren’t and are even enjoyable. I’ve played this game long enough to know exactly which parts I like and which I don’t and consequently which to praise and which to criticize.
Leveling and the never ending gear treadmill of a grind are, and have always been, a tedious chore and I have always called out Blizzard on it. And I intend to continue to do so.
/laughs in tank spec
Absolutely not true. It’s only been a chore since they did the stupid thing where monsters level with you.
See, before Actigarbage, you had a path through each expansion. You leveled up to unlock new abilities, new areas to explore, and leveling was actually enjoyable. Plus, each expansion had multiple routes you could take (even Vanilla), so playing an alt wasn’t the same story every time.
Now, everything levels with you. There is no unlocking new areas, 'cause you could just go there at any time anyway. There’s no unlocking new abilities because they’ve pruned so much from the game.
Plus, the story is way weaker and tries too hard to be “cinematic” when stories from WOTLK to MoP era (the golden years) were just fine. But then, that’s what happens when you remove half the leadership from the company for insane allegations that obviously weren’t true given the lack of court appearances
As for gearing, I love getting new gear. I actually hate this upgrade system, much prefer just getting better drops or going for perfect stat rolls.
I used to literally delete max level toons with a lot of raid gear just to re-level and re-gear. I LOVE the sense of progression. But you don’t get that anymore.
Game isn’t fun til my ability to play my class starts mattering, so for the first 3 weeks I just kinda go through the motions and do sidequests to fill my time since I do kinda like WoWs small scale writing.
The actual gameplay though? Tedious.
Imagine how wildly successful a person could be if they all rushed education and the pursuit of good employment with the same devotion they put into power race leveling in WoW.
I can’t even begin to fathom one person, no least millions!
