Why do night elves shun their troll heritage?

over all trolls…not for all trolls -.- omg…

You inner colonialist is showing. Read my edit. Even Azshara and the further history proves my point.

you´re…trolling, right?

Nope that’s on the elven fans here, defending a colonial war of aggression.

i don´t defend THEM!

Doesn’t matter… The nature of the treaty specified what the Trolls were allowed to keep, which only extends to Zandalar. Meaning, by the nature of the treaty itself, the Elves were allowed to expand into Troll territory freely and with impunity.

Sure sounds like you do.

Every other elven fan here for sure is defending this invasion.

Azshara disagrees.

Saying your lore is incorrect isn’t the same as defending.

It was her idea, so she agrees.

All what?

The Zandalari were visited because they had great influence over all the troll tribes, and were given an ultimatum. Either they agreed to it, or they were wiped off the map.

Incapable against the arcane powers, they agreed. The Zandalari were allowed to keep Zandalar and would use their influence to keep all tribes quiet.

The elves were given the rest of the lands.

Azshara then expanded her dominion.

So all the elf fans here saying it was ok to murder a bunch of trolls didn’t defend the invasion?
I’m not wrong on this.

Her actions disagree with you.
Every tribe had to keep the peace and they would be left alone. This is what happened.

Wrong she did no such thing. The war was over. Unjust peace between the two races was lasting. Until the High Elves messed it all up.

You’re definition of an “invasion.”
Fou have to support that with facts.
So far, you have failed to do so.

It Literally says the opposite of that.

So, the Trolls were invading the High Elves?
You’re really arguing that?

Because they survived long enough to establish a city?

Ever heard the phrase: Once Bitten, Twice Shy?

True, your argument truly doesn’t.

No one said it was a good idea. Only that it was their only option (that didn’t include them dying to weather or a spear.)

Entering a empire with a force, killing the locals, taking over land etc.
This was a invasion no delusion can save you from this.

Survived? Where? Why? Killing trolls on their lands perhaps?

That’s literally why the Trolls defend their territory against the Elves. It’s mentioned in Chronicles 1.

That’s wrong and you know it.

Why was submission not an option?

Regardless of the moral positions of some of the posters, you are fundamentally wrong about the nature of the treaty.

Just because something is legal doesn’t make it morally correct. So you can say the Quel’dorei had a legal right to invade Amani territory and still say it was morally wrong.

And that would be a reasonable thing to say.

Not really. Chronicle says outright that she was never interested in expanding into Troll territory. That is why she made the treaty to begin with. if she wanted to Conquer the Troll Empire, she would have just done so and not bother with a treaty.

The treaty itself was a power play. She was saying “I could… I just don’t want to.”

Not true. We can actually look up the Ancients and see what quests they give…

Which one of those Ancients asks us to slaughter entire groups of those races for XYZ reasons? Because I can’t find the quests.

Oh wait, I know how I’m supposed to respond here!

:rage: Oh, you’re so mean! That makes me flustered!

But no, seriously. Actually answer the question.

she…did it…directly after the treaty was sign

Of course. But they didn’t. There is no legal right to invade a nation.

You’re arguing against yourself at this point.

There was lasting peace after this.

Trespassing (really, their only actual crime), defending themselves from Troll Attacks, settling on what they believed to be uninhabited land.

The only delusion here is yours.

Survived the Troll Aggression.

“Defending” by attacking first out of racial prejudice.

Because you just said it. They Hated the Elves so submission = Death.

The Elves knew Trolls lived there. Even when they knew the Trolls didn’t want them there, they continued to settle the area and kill the Trolls that continued to resist.

They chose this over peaceful cohabitation with humans.
