Ditch the visage form and let dracthyr wear full armor. If I wanted to play a male blood elf or female human, I can do so already.

We shouldn’t be asking why they need a visage form. We SHOULD be asking why that form is another stupid elf.

i’d rather not have any visage form at all if they won’t let us visage as all the other races.
i would personally have a gnome visage like Chromie. but if they’re just gonna make more humans and elves. i don’t want any of it.
and now they’re doing a rush job with their november release date. blizz plz, either scrap visage or let us visage as all races. don’t do the worgen mistake again by not listening.

You honestly think that dragons turning in humans comes from Blizzard? That has been in written fantasy lore for well over a thousand years. And they are elven models. not humalike btw.

Elves are humanoid as well as every other playable race in the game.

And I corrected you to be more specific on purpose. Orcs and ogres are humanoids Zombies are . I said elf like because they are.
If the starting zone is similar to other hero classes/worgen you’ll unlock the spells as the story goes with the justification given then.
Maybe you choose it as youre leaving as your send off into the wider world since visage day is a dragon’s coming of age ceremony.
Maybe it a quest where you try to sneak into the expedition bases disguised and get easily caught cause youre disguise isnt humanoid enough.
For the choice of forms, the reliquary and explorers league are how you choose a faction. The reliquary is all bloodelves so a form based on them makes sense, The explorers league excepts any alliance race and was founded by dwarves, but they probably looked at the data and more people play human.
Also with the exception of chromie and Rhea, the most memorable dragons have taken form as human (onixia,deathwing,nefarion,) half elves(kalegos), or b/nelves (norzdomu,alex,ysera)
Some people are never happy and will always find one more thing to cry about…

This but less extreme. No real good reason, other than not wanting to make all the new hair and body looks, to limit the visage form. I’m sure they’ll argue most dragons pick a human or elf of some kind, especially the main dragons, but there still exists others who don’t.
It should have absolutely been a choice which, again, I think the main reason they didn’t is because of all the customization the visage models have access to and how much work it would take to give that same level of detail to all the other races.
And you are wrong.
I’m guessing you meant to say aren’t, but again, you’re wrong, go look up the word, Orcs and Ogres are indeed humanoid.
Go look up the word humanoid and get back to me.
In the mean time, stop posting “gotcha” posts, because you didn’t, and every subsequent post is making you look more and more foolish.
They need a visage form because i don’t want to play an ugly beast 
as long as it’s like the Worgen where I can just never use the more humanoid form and completely ignore its existence…then I don’t have a problem with it

That would have taken a lot more time to program/design/ and who knows, maybe they will eventually.
and how would you know that?
They transform into elves so they don’t scare the gnomes as badly. You know how often gnomes just fall over dead at the sight of scales? Is a real problem.

Unlike worgen, it seems that Dracthyr will revert to visage form when riding mounts. Wouldn’t be too bad, except DF’s big expansion feature is going to require you to be mounted frequently, so your gaudy elf alter ego will be getting plenty of screen time.
Maybe that will change between now and 10.0, but if it does, that just makes the visage form even more pointless.
