Oh god, I never thought of that angle.
That starter zone is going to need to do a lot of heavy lifting to make sense of everything.
Seriously the horde made alexstraza a literal sex slave. And now her nieces and nephews are signing up with tiem?
pretty sure she only laid eggs for dragon use…
IKR… 100000% agree. The other dragonkin don’t have these forms. And the visage form doesn’t even hide the fact they are dragons. It’s like some stupid martigras half ppl half animal thing it looks so bad
Which they forced her to do. It’s trafficking. If I insinuated the R word my bad but if you think about it, forcing someone to have kids against their will whole chained up is a kind of R word
How dare you! As a Louisiana native this shall not stand monsieur!
I’m curious if Blizzard ever explained why. It’s totally pointless for them to have one if they aren’t using it to blend in since they are already bipedal.
Transmog
Why do they all look like they got glitter bombed while applying makeup?
Why are their dragon forms so wimpy?
These are the real questions.
RP mostly, cause ya know some folk might wanna RP their dracthyr in humanoid form. As for why their vestige forms are human and thalassian like? Well humans and blood elves are the most played races last I checked so it kinda makes sense . . . I’d imagine if gnomes and tauren were the most popular races their vestige forms would look like them.
The dragon form should’ve been a proper dragon on all four legs not this weird bipedal look.
Rad, another garbage ‘racial power’, and this one’s denying any kind of gear or larger customizations with the form I’d ACTUALLY be interested in.
Swear, everything is ‘ooh that looks interesting’ ‘oh yeah? let’s make it totally unpalatable!’ ‘oh, thanks, I hate it now. you’re the best.’
Because they’d have to make mount animations for them. I’m guessing they didn’t want to bother figuring out what to do with those tails.
It feels like there’s a lot of corners the devs take for somethings…and then for other parts of the game coughraids/mythic+cough they go all in, damn the expenses…
Something, something, massive exodus of casual players, something something
We could only be so lucky.
There is no point.
It’s another egocentric half-baked answer to player feedback.
For years players have been asking for a dragon aspect race where we can transform into our individual beloved mortal forms.
Instead blizz is giving dracthur.
Players wanted High Elves, blizz came up with void elves over night.
Players wanted Dark Rangers, blizz gave eye/skin.
Players wanted NE palys and Zandalar Warlocks, blizz announced Tauren rogues.
See what I mean?
I assume the tails move. It’s just a slightly bigger Draenei male tail. You would think the modern devs would be able to at the very least recreate the stuff the old devs did years ago like having the tail move to one side of the mount like on Draenei.
I don’t think any playable Dracthyr have ever met Alexstrasza. We don’t know much about their starting experience yet but I think it’s been implied they wake up in their own starting zone not really knowing what is going on and having no contact with regular dragons.
What they do know is that they have a mission from Neltharion the Earth-Warder (you might notice this information is slightly out of date) and they’d better figure out what is going on.
We of course don’t know yet what IS going on in the Isles because it’s the story of Dragonflight. Probably it will turn out to make sense that they wind up on the same side as the Alliance and Horde against… whatever we turn out to be up against in DF, which we currently have even less information about than we had about the Jailer before SL released. But will it be bad enough to get mutually distrusting groups to say “You know what, let’s set aside our differences for now, THAT guy needs to be stopped”? The history of Azeroth points to yes.
P.S. I’m also pretty sure Alexstrasza understands how the present Horde is different from the Dragonmaw acting under Legion influence, and the surviving Greens know what actually happened to Ysera and that it was Xavius’s fault and not the people who technically killed her.
