Best they can do is put in some decent customization options now and call it a day.

Perhaps. My bet is the Explorer’s League has human representatives with them while the Reliquary is only consisted of Blood Elves and this specific expedition for it to appear to make sense, as it seems Blizzard only made Human female and Blood Elf male options for the humanoid visages.

Why can Worgen turn back into Human? Why can Goblins rocket jump? How can Gnomes instantly escape slows and roots? Why do Draenei have the Gift of the Naaru? Why does drinking demon blood turn your skin green then drinking more turn it red? How can Humans instantly remove stuns? Why are Orcs more resistant to stuns? Why can dragons take on any form they desire, including inanimate objects? Why can Night Elves disappear in broad daylight so long as they remain still?
There, I gave you more useless questions to ask while you are so hung up on this one that has already been answered for you and multiple times at that.

I am thinking you have nothing of value to contribute to this subject and are just here to annoy so I am going to end this now.
I think visage form was an excuse to not take the time to fit armor to the dracthyr. I’d rather just play the dragon full time, armor and all. Flying with my own wings, no mount needed.

These visage forms definetley do not blend in though I still think they should just allow you to use any customization you want from all the other races as your visage.

Because Blizz didn’t feel like making transmog work on Dragon form, and didn’t want to put a ton more effort into dragon form and went the easy route of giving more customization to the Visage form. Same reason there’s only one dance, and both versions of Dracthyr in dragon form look the same.
If they were actually leaning towards visage being needed to ‘blend in’ and so forth they would I don’t know… actually look just like normal humans/elves and probably be able to be other races so that excuse is out. The Dracthyr form is already ‘small’ enough to interact with the other races just fine, so needing it to interact with other races is out too.

Maybe the dracthyr dont trust the other races of azoroth and prefer a visage form to be a little more discreet until they learn to trust everyone else from azoroth.
I know I wouldnt be so quick to go around in my true form around a bunch of murder looting raid hobos my first day after 10000 years of sleep
And that would make perfect sense… if it wasn’t for the horns and the scales and the unique jewelry.
the point is that theyre not going to walk around in the dracthyr form 24/7 when they just started exploring azoroth. Visage forms are to protect the dracthyr from being preyed upon by other enemies or races as the lore continues to be explored.
The visages are likely not perfected…
They are created dragons and probably never seen any other race before.
So the first time may likely be the arrival of the expedition.
That said we don’t know how they learn the Visage illusion. Might be by a dragon of the Dragonflight.
Well apparently the Dracthyr only learn how to cast the Visage after they wake up and meet the exploration teams.
At least that is what was told so far.
Dracthyr by themselves do not need the Visage at all.
You conveniently copied only half of my sentence so ill just reiterate why i think the Dracthyr need their visage form.
Its to protect the Dracthyr from being preyed upon, not just because they feel like cosplaying as a blood elf.
