tim hortons vs dunkin
war of 1812 part deux?
Grass is always greener, especially when your country is going through multiple scares all at once.
Aw, post was lovely till this point, lol.
I wish everyone up here was like that… sometimes I feel like the folks from the southern states are far more polite than folks up here.
Well said.
canadians dont have even a fraction of the rights american citizens do. we have countless more we are free.
Blame it on my American lack of manners.
Respect +100
I once was in an ER for 10 hours, so us 'Muricans got those Canadians beat there.
I even got to pay for the privilege!
shots fired
fawning over Canadians deintensifies
Oh I don’t disbelieve you on that. When I was on state insurance I had to wait 2 months for them to approve and schedule the appointment and then when I showed up to the appointment the receptionist was like “uh you don’t have active insurance” and I had to pay for it myself anyway.
Bureaucracy is it’s own kind of evil. Eat the rich.
Bagged milk is a sign of pure evil, I would never fawn over such a thing
I really don’t get why American’s seem to think this is true. I have a family member who works for the (former, they shuffle it around between the docs) chief thoracic surgeon in my city and they make sure that if you have something that’s life threatening they boost you in priority to make sure you’re seen well before it’s too late. They keep spots available or squeeze people in to make it work.
Does that mean that if you have a very minor thing that it could take a few months to get resolved? Sure. But again, it depends on the severity of your issue and the likelihood of it getting worse before you’re seen.
For example, my friend recently had the first seizure of his life a few months ago. He ended up having a cyst on his brain that needed to be removed. It was gone within a few weeks of discovering it. Never had another one. Whereas I needed to have my tonsils removed in early adulthood and I had to wait a month.
Only thing we had to pay for was parking.
I was going to make a (very) negative post about our current leader but I’ll refrain for the sake of not turning this political.
Aaaanyways, something positive…
Canada is a beautiful country.
Happy to be here.
8-16 hours waiting in ER is pretty normal up here, too.
So do we. But we pay every month. Whether we need it or not. Unless you make less than a certain amount annually at which point the government will pay for you.
It’s not all sunshine and rainbows but I honestly wouldn’t change it. Weird feeling to complain about something but still not want it to change…
That’s propaganda BS. We have public healthcare in Australia and if a doctor writes me a referral I can get an MRI tomorrow with a simple phone call. Longest you’ll wait is a week tops for non-critical issues if they are all booked out and that would be weird. Public healthcare =/= massive waiting.
Not even, That song exemplifies wistful nostalgia like no other. Let’s see you do better!

The first time we lived in another country and I saw milk sold in bags, I about died from the shock. “Who ever thought this was a good idea?” I said.
But then we got used to it.
Well, that’s nice. I do worry for you all sometimes and your impact on the rest of us.
That’s only an east coast thing. I can honestly say in all my 34 years of life of which all have been spent here I have never once seen a bag of milk. xD
