they don’t tell you the time when they didn’t make it work. try book an appointment for a common cancer. good luck seeing specialists. months waiting for tests. then months waiting by specialists.
btw. im from the north too. so. it’s not “americans seem to think its true”. its reality.
One time I almost had to pay $65 for a little pack of tissues and $125 for some aspirin. Only reason I wasn’t accidentally charged because my doctor confirmed I brought them with me. At least my insurance covered the $236.86 ice pack that I actually used from the hospital.
So silly, we pay for ours out of every paycheck and we pay again at the doctor’s.
If we’re really lucky we get a bill later for out-of-network doctors, too!
Then we pay anywhere from $4 up to $1000’s for our medication.
Want to see a new doctor for something specific? Better make a dozen phone calls or more just to find someone who actually takes your insurance, then wait 3-6 months for your initial visit.
Get comfy in the waiting room for another hour or two, followed by an eternity in the exam room.
After about 60sec(if you’re lucky) with the actual doctor you’re out the door wondering what just happened.
Hint: You got evaluated, maybe a script$$, probably a referral to another doc for more out of pocket costs. Possibly some lab$ ordered. Oh yeah, and you gotta come back in a couple months, does Sep 20th at 845am work?
The only good part of canada is the Maritimes and our lads the Newfies, rest of the country is full of friggin frenchmen and i’ll be damned if my children learn a single verb of that froofroo speech
