They scrapped the entire system not just DHKs. DHKs weren’t “removed because they were bad”, they were removed as part of removing the entire PVP Honor System and replacing it with an Honor Points system.
I wasn’t saying that is what will actually happen or that it’s a realistic gameplay scenario. I was just trying to say that you could argue that they don’t kill world pvp but that people kill world pvp by not participating because of DHKs.
I’m not sure what the point of this post was. I never said Blizzard removed them because they acknowledged they were bad for the game, just that they were removed because they no longer affected anything.
What was in/not in vanilla is irrelevant, as they were both in and not in Vanilla. And we have things that were not in vanilla.
But like everyone else you characterised removing DHKs as a discrete action. DHKs were only removed because HKs were removed in the same way. They didn’t say “DHKs are bad, lets remove them” they said “We need to completely overhaul the entire PVP incentive system”.
And like every one peddling this attempt, you’re wrong that they are cherry picking Vanilla.
They are implementing 1.12 as of 2006. When DHKs were in. There was never a period in 1.12 or even 2006 where there were no DHKs in Vanilla.
There was never a period where loot trading was in either. Or a period where sharding was in outside of battlegrounds. Yet one is confirmed in, and another is on the table iirc.
Off topic, you’re also pro-CRBGs I take it?
I never said Blizzard said DHKs were bad, just that they were removed as a consequence to the honor system being scrapped.
I’m actually agnostic on CRBGs. I would expect them to implement them at CP6, but I don’t consider them to the be realm destroying monsters that people make them out to be.
You guys set the goal posts. You specifically claimed that Blizzard is cherry picking Vanilla. If you can’t back up your claim, then your entire post falls apart because your reasoning for removing DHKs, requires them to have already been cherry picking Vanilla.
I meant active in the game not on the forums… like this toon was made at some point in vanilla. Xbox live has a similar system where above your name it just shows how many years your account has existed.
