Why Didn't You Just Follow The OSRS Model

Seriously… Why… Is it just money? Because he’ll, I’d rather pay $25-30 a month if it meant Pay to win boosts and obnoxious cosmetics (seriously what is that hearthstone portal, and why is it infinitely spammable.) weren’t in the game… Oh, and it wouldve been nice if you had actually banned cheaters, botters, and gold buyers before implementing full on “retail monetization”…

But whatever, what’s done is done, my unbroken subscription since August 2019 is cancelled now… You win Activision, good luck on your Q2 Reports…

well this is definitely going to be a civil and unbiased discussion

Paying real world money for Progression; wether that be cosmetic, in-game currency, or player power, is Pay to Win in a Multiplayer RPG.

There’s no debate.

side track to say that cosmetics by definition do not “win” you anything, and so calling them pay to win is factually wrong

as for everything else, debatable at best. what do you win with the boost? 2 levels short of the level cap and gear that’s worse than something you’d have by level 30 leveling normally? oh boy…I skipped irrelevant content to get into what actually matters faster, boy howdy I sure did win by spending money…

In a Multiplayer RPG, Progression is “winning”, you see something you want to accomplish, you invest your time and effort into accomplishing that thing, and you feel rewarded once you’ve accomplished it.

That is, unless of course someone else standing right next to you was able to obtain the same by paying real world money, that instantly devalues your accomplishment, no matter how small, or mechanically insignificant…

You do understand what a Multiplayer RPG is, right…?

there is no accomplishment in leveling. it is a slog that serves only as a barrier of entry into the actual, fun content of the game that is raiding. you are correct, progression is winning, and progression is in your ability to steadily clear a raid until you finally defeat the last boss

an rpg with multiple players. I don’t understand the point of this question

you don’t speak for everyone.

great! we agree. so dont make sweeping generalizations about leveling being boring and “the real game” being endgame raiding. not everyone agrees with you. If you think leveling is so awful you are free to go back to retail and level up a draenei there in two days

Their Q2 reports are going to be absolutely insane due to the amount of people that are subbing to play TBC, along with boosts costs/Deluxe edition. You’re quitting because your mental state is in the wrong place. There is nothing wrong about the cash shop in TBC, at least not yet, anyway. If you are bothered that people can boost a level 58 (which by the way, does not effect you in any way at all), then you should probably restrict your own internet access to mobile games.

and you don’t make sweeping generalizations about leveling being winning and “the real game” being said leveling. not everyone agrees with you. If you think level 1-58 is so important and that being able to boost past that to get into what is relevant in TBC (TBC) on a single character per account is pay to win go back to Classic Era realms where there is no boost

lol i was just telling you that not everyone agrees with your statement about leveling being boring so I’M the one who’s actually speaking on behalf of everyone? rules for me but not for thee right?

I did not say that, but you are the one speaking in defense of the person who is and so you are the one who will receive the rebuttals. If you don’t want to be part of this conversation then don’t speak for other people

Yeah. Because I agree with them dummy.

Pointless insults do not strengthen your argument

You seem super childish vherizmia. She/he just pointed out you don’t speak for everyone. She acknowledges she doesn’t either, yet you keep implying your points seem to matter more than hers.

Being able to by pass countless deaths from leveling and the hours it takes by paying for a boost and going straight into Outland is a big boost and is in a sense pay 2 win because you are getting to content much quicker than someone who isn’t paying for a boost and you will essentially out gear the person who didn’t boost by the time they reach level 60…

And again. We’ve seen time and time again people love leveling and love to level alts. We’ve also seen people say they hate leveling and only want to raid. Both arguments are right but yet you seem to think only yours matters and that’s the issue here that you aren’t seeming to grasp.
