There’s literally nothing suggesting that Calia is nothing more than a one-off thing. It took a naaru and two of the most powerful priests on Azeroth.
She’s not antithetical to the Forsaken. Unless you mean to imply forsaken are irredeemable monsters that need to be put in the dirt before they all become a Sylvanas.
very good point. I think allied races should be reserved for special times that they do come up with new ideas for lore and not just random stuff like the vulpera…they coulda used a lot more time for growth as a race…they rushed it imo.
woulda rather seen ogres for horde…cenarions for alliance
Lol, just make a claim and when it’s disputed redirect, nice.
Again, look at their heritage quest. Regardless of some of them embracing it, the mainline idea of the race is that they are not defined by being Worgen.
Cleverness, resourcefulness, mercantile culture. And once again you get your point disputed and can’t respond with anything, good going.
Voss doesn’t, actually. She asks Calia to help the Night Elf Forsaken in particular. And Voss is just one person, as it is Calia isn’t leading anyone.
It’s literally stated that some Kul Tirans are descendants of the Thornspeakers and Humans interbreeding.
Lol, didn’t stop the Mag’har, or the Blood Elves, or the Night Elves, or the Dark Irons, or the Void Elves, or the Nightborne, or the Zandalari.
Fact is the Horde overthrew a mad tyrant and reinstalled the proper ruler and religion of the Sethrak, they should be grateful.
They were part of the first four allied races, which were explicitly allies that the factions made fighting the Legion (barring void elves, whose introduction was instead catalyzed by the results of Alleria’s storyline on Argus), were the center of a whole zone in the previous expansion, had several notable characters both living and dead, and their models were already player-ready.
Taunka, meanwhile, were last relevant over a decade ago, only had like one or two notable characters, and their model for males is still late-PS2-tier with a head too big to wear helms, while the females are indistinguishable from female tauren. There was no reason for Blizzard to pick them over a race that was easier to implement and already just had their moment in the limelight, and it wouldn’t make sense to, anyway.
Becuase of their size Ogres costs Blizzard to much money in digital pixels. Vulpera are way cheaper. Also the Horde needed a puntable race of their own. I’m still betting Gnomes can be punted further. Bring it on Horde!
Because ogres are massive brutes, and the game is not designed for playable massive brutes. I guess they could be shrunk down. But why not add gnome sized giants while they are at it.
I am of the opinion that every race will have an undead customization option, hence Calia. She is not there to take over the horde, rather, she is there to give undead humans and night elves to the alliance. Whereas Horde will have undead blood elves (dark rangers) along with forsaken.
No it’s not. That in game text was poorly worded (it was meant to refer back to the descendants of the Kul Tirans) and when asked in a Q&A, Blizz answered with this:
They are not intended to be a separate race, they are simply variants on Kul Tirans made because Blizzard wanted bigger and smaller models to fit the various NPC roles and add more flavor to the world. They are not biologically different from other humans.
Why did Alliance get void elves instead of high elves?
High elves have been involved with the Alliance since Warcraft 2.
Void Elves are some random race Alliance was given because Alleria absorbed a fallen Naaru.
In short, because Blizzard has no idea what the playerbase want.
Too soon after KT were introduced, they have to keep up the illusion that KT’s weren’t created so Ogres could come in game. Eventually Ogres will get the "KT"model. Don’t worry, they will happen.
They can use the Kul Tiran rig. Not all Ogres are as massive as you’re trying to make them sound; they range from 6’ - 12’, which translates to anywhere between 4’ shorter than Tauren to 2’ taller.
GROSS. They are dumb, cant even speak good and ugly. Foxes are baddass, cool and cute.
Also a lot more requested foxes over ogres. we have orcs dont even need ogres…
Well that’s better than what Alliance got, We have reskins galore
I’m sure Ogres will come in at some point, but I do agree with you OP, I think Vulpera made it because Blizzard needs to hold onto subs and a lot of people wanted these furry fox things on both sides!
