The Kul’Tirans we play as are descended from the Drust Thornspeakers (Vrykul Druids).
It’s why they are able to be Druids and why the Large Kul’Tirans look different.
Because they aren’t 100% human.

The other Kul’Tirans probably aren’t and thus looks like regular humans (No idea about the skinny ones.).

THAT is why you play as the Large ones, cause they are different and you couldn’t be a druid otherwise.

Every human is descended from Vrykul. We learned that in WotLK. So there goes that explanation.

Perhaps they might have considered making them something like this, which is a race from Final Fantasy, their equivalent of the Kul Tirans. (Click to see full image)

Those are gorgeous character models. I love Final Fantasy art

I stand by my post. Especially the part you conveniently left out of your quote:

Realistic in the sense that they have the bodies of modern fitness models

Which they do.

Not a sham or lies.

They would put more effort in if they were a NEW race
but technically they’re not. They’re an ‘Allied Race’, not a NEW race. A new race would be listed with the others under the other list. Have you noticed that the races under the ‘Allied Races’ tab are reskins? The Kul Tirans are actually the only ‘different ones’ in the sense of size and looks. So actually, they’re the ‘ahead’ in regards to the others.

If by “body builders gut” you mean the kind you get by exclusively lifting a dozen donuts hand to mouth every day
sure. And no, you wouldn’t be missing anything. Said this elsewhere, and it bears repeating:

In warcraft 3, the kul tirans were depicted as a human race from the Island of Kul Tiras. Essentially, they looked like every other human, with some regional differences (armor, banners, etc). Some notable examples were people like Daelin and Jaina Proudmoore. Daelin’s forces were Kul Tiran and supplied the bulk (if not the entirety) of the Alliance (not the current Alliance) naval forces during the first through third wars
up to the point that Jaina helps do him in.

Apparently, in the intervening years
between warcraft 3 and now, Kul Tiras opened up several krispy kreme donuts (or something along those lines) and it became the staple diet for their entire nation. Because if you look at everyone from Kul Tiras from those days and look at what we’re getting now
it’s pretty much the only explanation that makes sense. You have a population that went from a very fit fighting force to a good number of them becoming very heavyset
to the point that like Mr. Incredible in “The Incredibles” they wouldn’t fit in their super suits (armor) from the warcraft 3 days any more.

Said this elsewhere, but I’ll close with this:

Because when you think about it, a fat naval force makes zero sense. Because if you thought you needed to be in shape to fight on land, it goes double for fighting on the high seas
especially in old school sailing vessels.

This guy says it better:

No. What they’re referring to is a phenomenon called “roid gut.” With the popularity of insulin and HGH (human growth hormone) among bodybuilders, a common side-effect is a distended belly.

It’s not caused by eating doughnuts. HGH makes everything grow, including your internal organs.

Well, considering that HGH doesn’t exist on Azeroth
we can safely rule that out. Given their obesity rate
however, the Gnomes will more than likely need to develop insulin before long, lest most of the population succumb to diabetes. And eventually die.

Let’s face it, that’s not “distended,” it’s fat. That comes from a high fat diet. It is also known as morbid obesity. The vrykul managed to look like real strong men (and women) without looking like they’d have a heart attack getting to the front door.

I’m all for more appearance options, just give people the ones that are already in the game: namely the normal Kul Tiran models we have seen since bfa launched, and lorewise have existed since before wow was a thing.

Why is it that every mainlander immediatly jumps to the conclusion that Kul Tiran Humans are the same thing as Stormwind Humans? Sure, we are the same species of Human, have similar skin colours and the same biological composition, but–

Oh
 yeah
 yeah, I see it now.

If it was just a reused model
But no, they went and invested time and money on something that is not appealing. I just don’t get the point.

Guess they wanted to be inclusive, but
it’s not selling.

Incorrect.

On my Blood Elf Warlock, I participated in a quest (arguably among the very worst in the entire history of WoW) in which I adopted a baby Direhorn. Anticipating that this would one day become a pet, I was very distressed to discover that instead, I was going to inject it with a solution (which, if not HGH, very effectively replicates it) causing it to grow prematurely.

Horrible, idiotic and cruel quest. The Devs really need to have their heads examined for that PoS garbage quest.

You are extremely misinformed when it comes to the science of nutrition and dietetics and you would be better served not weighing in on this topic.

To those who read the post I’m quoting, disregard his comment on the subject of nutrition. A more inaccurate statement couldn’t possibly be made.

Yes, all humans are descended from Vrykul.
They are all DEGENERATED/DEFORMED Vrykul.
Large Kul’Tirans are different, they actually got Genes from their Drust Ancestors that weren’t said Deformed Gene, thus making them bigger and genetically different to some extent.
They are closer to the Vrykul than the other humans are, including they other Kul’Tirans who AREN’T large.
Ergo, they aren’t just humans, and that is why you play as THEM.
The Drust ancestry is why they can be Druids as well.

Oh, so obesity doesn’t come from a high fat diet, combined with a low activity lifestyle. Interesting. You said it best however in the best self rebuttal offered:

Alliance Allied Race Compendium

Alliance: “I want bad, low effort Allied Races”
Also Alliance: “Why are we getting bad, low effort Allied Races” :disappointed_relieved:

Let me Guess, you wanted Night Elf worgen? Blood elves with different eyes? or a race that has no relation with the Alliance?

I kinda like my Fat Humans. Race changed my Warrior into one and I’m leveling a Druid and Shaman. The only thing I dislike is how large their belly is, looks pretty ridiculous from the side, would love it if they shrunk it some.

I love how people try to justify making something in a game unbelievable because it wouldn’t be like that in real life while playing a night elf or any other made up race in a video game.
