Why did we get fat humans?

I was hoping that Kul Tirans would be more agile, fit and attractive looking humans rather than the “steroid junkie with old man faces” Stormwind humans we’ve had since say one. Whoever thought beer guts and binge eaters was a good aesthetic seriously needs their judgement questioned and should not be allowed to make such decisions in the future.

I thought they bunch of half drust and half human. Does anyone know if drust naturally fat? Only one I saw and his tummy is huge.

I think they look pretty cool. Way cooler than the regular human in game. I could never play those boring humans.

You’re assuming naval and pirate types don’t sit in taverns and swill beer and don’t develop a beer gut. They’re also meant to be rugged due to the elements. Sounds like you’re the one that needs their fantasy judgement questioned. Oh, I just did.

Also, to be thinner than the default human model would to play someone who’s sick and on their deathbed or a blood/void elf.

cus blizz doesnt want to give us cool races. we will get robot gnomes next mark my words

I wanted to be a normal kultiran human that wasnt skinny or fat. Not sure why they made it just 1 body type but I have no desire to be chunky monkey

McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut would be my guess.

What is not cool about them?

the giant beer gut that wiggles when they move along with the giant lips and the whole like 2 face options they have?

I think you mean he ate his entire unit because they got too close to his plate.

WoW already has a plethora of “big and rugged” looking males in the game and a dearth of more average proportioned body types. Slimmer than the steroid junkie standard human is “sick and on their deathbed” to you? Really?

Blood/Void Elf males are the only males in the game with remotely realistic human proportions. Realistic in the sense that they have the bodies of modern fitness models… which I would not call “sick and on their death bed”.

Kul Tirans look like walking heart attacks waiting to happen. Blood/Void Elf males look like personal trainers and health gurus. If that’s “sick and on their deathbed” to you then maybe its your judgement that needs questioning.

Well I was not precise enough. By “them” I meant mechagnomes but in regards to the beer gut, its about time Blizzard puts in a race that represents the player base if you ask me. ;p

Seriously though, stop judging by appearance and you can probably find lots of coolness about KT’s and even people in real life.

I’ve wanted more body types in the game since classic almost, I just never expected they would be their own race.

For me its less about judging and, selfishly, more about my own personal enjoyment of the game. I just can’t enjoy playing a character that I don’t like the look of. That doesn’t mean I don’t think others shouldn’t enjoy it, just that for me, Kul Tirans are a “dead on arrival” race (much like junk gnomes will be) that I just can’t play. I don’t mind there being a big option, but I’d be less critical of Kul Tirans if it hadn’t been the only option.

Imagine if you will, that Kul Tiran character creation had a selection similar to Orcs where they choose to be hunchback or standing straight, but instead Kul Tirans could choose the standard human model or the plus sized model. THAT would have personally made me happier with Kul Tirans.

I could then play a Kul Tiran, because while I am not a fan of the standard steroid junkie human male, I could make a character I am satisfied with the look of. I can’t do that with Kul Tirans as they are and thus I can’t play one, which is a real shame because I would have race changed my Shaman to go for the whole Tidesage thing, and leveled a KT Druid on my secondary server for the heritage unlock.

So as you can see my disdain for Kul Tirans is more about the fact that “fat” is the only option they have.

I understand what you are saying about playing aesthetically pleasing races. I just don’t agree that every race needs a variety within it. However, I am guessing that Blizzard will eventually add some more body shapes to KT since so many people are asking. They seem to be in appeasement mode.

Honestly, I’d love to see ALL races get more body type options. Kul Tirans could have just been the first to lay the groundwork and set the precedent. More variety is good IMO.

I find it amusing that when KT are advertised by Blizzard, it’s almost always the female version. It’s as if even Blizzard can’t stand looking at Male Kul Tirans LOL!

Fat pride movement. I think for a follow up we should have a race that is unmotivated to get out of bed and do anything but watch daytime tv. That would be new and exciting.
