I never implied that I didn’t like them, nor did I imply that the decision rests outside of Blizzard’s desires.
What I am implying is that there isn’t much of a chance for the San’layn to make it as an Allied Race.
Who knows tbh.
They might develop more in bfa
Or Bolvar might have something to do with them
If anything, I can see Bolvar enlisting them as a non-playable addition to his version of the Scourge. IIRC, the San’layn are freelancers atm and end up making a few shaky arrangements with the Horde in BfA.
However, concerning their potential as an Allied Race, something tells me that Blizzard wants to visit some non-Elf possibilities for a while lol. After all, the San’layn are an undead race of Blood Elves. We just got the Void Elves (also a variant of the Blood Elves) and Nightborne, so the likelihood of getting another Elf-type race or sub-race compared to something else is quite low. Hell, at this point, I would even go so far and say that Skeletons and ‘Dark Mirror’ ritual Forsaken are more likely undead-type Allied Race candidates. Anything Elf-like is at the bottom of the barrel.
We needed a race that would be so ignored that even the fox people would be better at least I hope we get them.

Again who really knows. Blizz knows we don't.
For all we know they could be added at the very end of bfa

I understand that lol, but I’m just working on probabilities / likelihood here. With four playable races of Elf already existing, the chances of any near-future Allied Race candidates being Elf-like is low, considering that no other race has more than one other variants of its base self. Obviously, there are many differences between the Night Elf race and High / Blood Elf Race, for example, but they are still all Elves.
There are better and more likely candidates for Allied Races at the moment before the San’layn should even be considered. You are right in saying that it is up to Blizzard. Hell, maybe their next two Allied Races will be two more variants of an Elf. Who knows. However, it’s not likely right now considering the number of playable Elf-like races.

Again only blizz knows the likelihood, we know jack, all we can do is, sit here and bark
Because realism.
The devs were inspired by a trip to Walmart.
humans need to compete with the growing elven plague. first it was night elves, next it was blood elves, players wanted high elves, and we got both void elves and nightborne elves. all humans have are stormwind humans and gilnean humans
McDonalds, KFC and too many computer games instead of exercise.

Of course there's the Alliance quest where they deal with the San'layn emissaries. Before the Alliance player kills him off, Blood Prince Dreven admits the San'layn weren't bargaining with the Horde in good faith. Sylvanas will not be at all happy to be double-crossed.
...no, it sure doesn't look good for San'layn to be playable. I think it's much more likely that (since they ARE an "adversary race") that we see a San'layn themed dungeon where both Alliance AND Horde take a crack at exterminating them once and for all.

You can't exterminate them all, the prince said before he died, that there were tons left.
Besides there might be san'layn dks in the ebon blade

uh... no. None at all. San'layn and DK are two different kinds of undead.

I don't see that. I see them as a hearty race of seafarers.
Don't play one if they bother you but I think they are fine the way they are.
You ever notice how its mostly the HORDE players that are happy the ALLIANCE is getting fat humans?
I wonder how happy they would be if they got fat orcs instead Nightborn.
I am a primarily horde player and unhappy about both nightborne and kul tirans. The nightborne deviate from their NPC counterparts in so many ways its not funny. Even their faces are way off. The playable version are just night elves that stand differently.
Kul Tiran males, awesome, really awesome. They look like 1910s strongmen. The females however have zero definition. They dont look strong or rugged and their faces look vapid and sweet. These women should look powerful, strong and determined. Im not asking for pretty, im asking for something that matches the theme of the males.

You do realize san'layn can be dks right? The scourge could change any race into a dk. Heck if pandaren and ARs were in northrend in the time of the scourge, they to would have the possibility to become a dk

I would have supported giving Alliance a real race but I'm not one of the devs. My advice is just hope the Kul'tirans prove unpopular.
To be honest the only allied races that really bring anything to their side is Alliance got Void Elves who bring Blood Elves to the Alliance, and Horde got Nightborne who bring Night Elves to the Horde the rest could have just been customization options.

San'layn aren't a race in that way though. San'layn are undead elves. Deathknights are undead (some other race), but, different types of Undeath.

Then how do you explain san'layn wearing plate armor, being warrior like, and using blood dk abilities

Self evident answer is self evident.

You don’t consider (edit) Kul’Tiran Humans to be a ‘real’ Allied Race but regard the Void Elves as being an Allied Race that actually brought something to the table?
Interesting.
