They need to have those big budget sinks for those of us who aren’t rich aren’t being nickled and dimed into poverty.
Bring back multi-million gold mounts to sink gold form the rich. Versus insane transmog and repair bill costs that punishes everyone.

Did you Rez sickness ? I think vendor price has something to do with repair cost.
I do a lot of stuff in game and I never felt THIS gold starved before. I’m definitely spending way more than making. I know the fix for that is to farm but even that would take a long time in doing so to make up for what I spend. At the least with some effort I’d be breaking even.
That’s pretty lame.
So I save myself the headache and buy a token. Suppose I’m part of the problem. But it’s just easier. Bleh.

Once gearing is done, there isn’t much to spend money on besides normal repairs and consumables. Don’t need to farm when a single <5 minute WQ could be 800~1k gold which covers repairs for most days except for progression raiding where most of the time is spent dying. Doing the WPvP Sparks WQ and just grabbing the dirt piles in the zone for it could get you 1~5k gold weekly depending on the special material drops without even spending 20 minutes.
While I noticed I spent more this expansion, mostly through putting in crafting orders, whenever I find my held gold on my main character drops below 900k I just toss some materials on the AH that piles up just by doing the weekly knowledge point and WPvP Spark quest and spend some concentration on my enchanter and alchemist and bam, money.
Satchels are lucrative. I make bank tanking and healing level 10-70 dungeons when satchels are up.
And the thing is, youre entirely correct. Crafting costs werent even this high in SL yet thats not my complaint. I can spend the off season weeks getting gold to prepare for that.
The repair costs are truly unacceptable. Im nearing the point where i could likely have spent as much on repairs as i initially did to craft.

I’ve been tempted to take Engineering on my Paladin purely so I can drop a Jeeves when my shield breaks in a dungeon I can’t mount in.

This is very informative. What satchel and which dungeons do you run? I had no idea this existed.
Thanks for sharing.

I was never bothered by repair bills as mage in pvp, since I rarely get hit and if I do I die.
Then I tried holy priest. I tank 2-4 players for most of the battleground, the repair bills are huge!

no, no its not to be expected. They have no respect for all the time and effort put into only to not remember how to repair a piece of gear (or however they want to spin it). its asinine and disrespectful.

I prefer they add mounts to the store and the “rich” buy their tokens instead.
That’s not entirely accurate.
Blizzard guarantees if you buy a a token and put it up on the AH it WILL SELL within 24 hours.
They cannot guarantee a player will buy your token in that time.
So if a player does not, the only reasonable conclusion is that Blizzard essentially buys the token from you… thus generating gold.
How are you having problems making gold? I don’t sell on the AH (don’t really buy either) and have gone up almost a million gold this xpac.
Heck this last week had 6x800~gold WQs. If you just did them thats 4800+gold. Do them on some alts as well and you can easily make more than 10k on just 2 toons and takes less than an hour.
@ the start of TWW expansion I farmed herbs/mining nodes every time I had time to and felt like doing atleast 30 mins a run (duration of gathering flask).
Made aprox 3 mil, no real sweat, no need to buy tokens, just had to spend some time on side part of the game.
Uuuuh, i actually play the content.
Good for you. I literally dont play for half the week so that already cuts the accessible WQ to half. I never did finish leveling a second toon, cause once again my play time is limited.
Everyone saying “spend time doing X” id blatantly missing the point. Im not asking to make a profit. Doing raid and M+ should reward at least enough gold to pay for repairs.

It’s the crystal satchel of cooperation.
Will show up as a reward in the random heroic queue pretty often for tank, heal, or both. Occasionally but not as often for DPS. So I just peek here and there and when it’s up I’ll just get on the appropriate character and crank it out real quick.
Will have ~1k gold in it as well as 1-4 I think of the augment runes which go for 1.1-1.3k gold depending upon the time of week. So for content in the fun, easy, and fast zone it’s pretty rewarding.
Would suggesting that you do a few heroic dungeons each week be too much? I get that your point is “raids should pay for themselves” but since that isn’t the case it seems like finding a way for you to comfortably make enough to cover your repair/consumable costs is the winning move.

Yes. I just came here to complain and would sooner buy a wow token than deal with heroic dungeons.
In the end, no one paying a sub should have to deal with this issue.
Well if you are just here to vent about it I’m not going to try to stop you and I’m not trying to be argumentative with you either. Only offering suggestions.
I do think raids and M+ should be a bit more lucrative to prevent this kind of sentiment in people that are really only here for that stuff fwiw.
Just trying to help you make the best of it since they currently are not lucrative enough to support their own requirements. They really haven’t ever been though so it’s kind of something most of us are accustomed to.
