Reminder that Vanilla also had Ret Paladins literally one shot world bosses
A lot of very silly and unexpected things happened in Vanilla, and I don’t see why this should be any different

Anyone ever see the first BLizzcon videos where they talk about raid design? Yeah, raids had level ranges. It wasn’t just max level. This also happened to be a carryover from EQ.
Doesn’t seem strange to me.
They need to ban the exploit users, then roll everyone back who did profit from those cheats. Layering has to be removed ASAP.
Only when that is done, a bugfix patch should be rolled in. It´s the exploits that hurt most, running around with a fire res buff that you should never have is just wrong and abusing of game mechanics, that were never intended for a raid.
While yes MC and Ony were easy in 1.12, it was mainly easy for those who were already geared from BWL, AQ and Naxx when 1.12 was relevant. I’ll believe that people are at a higher skill level compared to Vanilla, but the gear difference alone shows that MC and Ony are severely undertuned in some fashion (Also having level 55-59’s in the raid is a pretty clear indicator on how undertuned MC and Ony are given that MC and Ony were really only easy for once again, people geared from BWL, AQ and Naxx).
The other side of this argument is the exploitation of the layering system. Whether or not Blizzard accepts this as an exploit or not, exploiting that system doesn’t exactly represent the experience in Vanilla.
Lol okay. Hate to burst your bubble, but the only way to have your 2004 experience to be perfectly authentic is to build a time machine. much of it due to the players’ mindset of today
This is laughable. With how long people have waited for legitimate vanilla servers and how much time others have invested into their retail characters… one way or another the majority will stay and WoW will go on another 15 years. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised people are saying nerfed Ragnaros is the end, the sky has been falling since 2004.
Its not undertuned. Private servers were over tuned.
Accept it, classic was never hard and it never will be hard.
You have been lied to the last few years and blinded by hype.
Rose colored glasses are real.
Those raids where under tunes even back then.
The problem is the people who are complaining it was too easy are basing their experience on private servers, which delivertly over tuned the content.
No, the general consensus seems to be that the numbers seem about right for the patch. Also curious why you are worried that it’s so easy if you haven’t even yet done the things that are easy.
The people you are referring to have played the same content for 15 years and have practiced these raid clears over and over and over and over again. I am level 18 and I am enjoying the game as it is
The tuning of all content i have seen so far is perfect. What you are not taking into account is the class balancing/bug fixes - 1.12 is the most complete ‘perfect’ version of vanilla.
Leveling to 60 in 1.1 had you run out of quests. Classes had broken specs, talents, tuning issues. Threat was messed up.
All of those improvements and bug fixes had been implemented by 1.12 - what was the quickest 0-60 time in 1.12? How many wipes did it take with a full geared raid of 60’s to get ONY out of p2 and into the unknown p3?
How much gold was wasted on talent respecs to find that perfect cookie cutter build?
Nothing has been de-tuned or made ‘easier’
yeah except some of those “raids” were 10 man raids that later became 5 man dungeons.
So far, that still hasn’t changed
The amount of people defending 1.12 is staggering. It caters to the most people - those who want to “beat” the game and sew their oats, those from retail that want things to be easy, and those from private servers who want to show how awesome they are.
It’s no surprise. If they made classic anymore time consuming, people would get frustrated and quit.
Memory’s worse than a gold fish’s, and still no ability to read Patch Notes
The amount of people that consider bugs / improperly tuned abilities as a tier iof “difficulty” is astounding.
I don’t understand this obsession people have about the difficulty of classic WoW. News flash, maybe the end game content is easier now because people have more than 3 FPS, less than 234 ping, and are extremely coordinated and competitive. Stop trying to compare 2005 to 2019. The world of Azeroth in classic WoW is still just as deadly as I remember, doesn’t seem too much easier to me. How about we stop QQing over the fact that people who have been training on private servers for years and years killed a boss that has 3 mechanics and we just enjoy the magnificent RPG that classic wow is.
The world is harder than the dungeons which is in turn harder than mc. Its a little backwards dont you think?
Leveling is fine though.
Completely agree with you here, however I find it funny that the majority of people who are complaining about the difficulty of said raid most likely haven’t even entered it yet. They are assuming difficulty by watching 40 people who have been no lifing the game since it came out along with layer abusing and the fact that they played private servers for years. I think maybe they should clear molten core first, then complain about its difficulty if they still choose to do so.
I actually think because of the amount of info and effort that has been put into BiS lists, needed talents etc etc people had some miss understanding that Classic would be insanly hard without all of that.
I cant tell you how many times i have read a Warrior NEEDS defence cap to tank a raid boss.
