I was looking forward to this experience being as close to authentic as possible, but I feel like they’ve made it too easy somehow? People got to 60 in a matter of what…3 days? And cleared raid bosses without even a full group of 60s. Why bother to do this if they made the content so easy? I feel like this was done on purpose somehow? Everything is vastly undertuned according to a lot of people who play private servers and my own memory

What is funny is to watch retail players use this opportunity to gaslight vanilla players and claim that this was the vanilla experience and we didn’t realize it because we were all lobotomized 12 year olds who clicked spells and couldn’t use mechanics or something.
It is very obvious the 1.12 frankenpatch completely screwed with almost all elite content, There are certain gearchecks that cannot just be completely neglected no matter how much you master the very few mechanics there are in MC.
I foresee 2 things happening. Scenario number one is the game dies in a couple months, and both classic & retail and the entire franchise just dies out. Scenario number 2 is actiblizz will release a “bugfix” patch like they did with the SM 10 man farming and retune things correctly

If you’re playing classic for a challenge, then I’m affraid you’re going to be disappointed. Classic was “your little brother’s MMO” back in the day for a reason.

Probably so they could just phase out the stuff without having to patch anything. They didn’t want to go through the patch cycles of slowly fixing / making things easier as more content comes out. Just boom this version and the raids in this version.

Yeah I keep seeing that, too, though the game was obviously never meant to be this easy? I am really disappointed, tbh. It feels purposeful since it leaked theyre offering free 110s to people who get to 60 in classic or something. I heard as well that the patch we’re on in classic is the patch right before BC/Naxx release, making all the former raids easier in “catch up” mode. Seems completely against the idea of wanting a classic server to put us on a patch that late… Really makes absolutely no sense to me, and with PVP battlegrounds not coming until later, IDK what they are thinking over at Blizz, but I knew they’d muck this up somehow.

it is the authentic experience. You can’t eliminate people’s accumulated experience though. Rest assured though, your average joe is not going to be downing MC with sub 60 players. The people who downed MC week 1 are literal speedrunning tryhards who have been practicing server firsts for years on various pservers. This is not representative of your average guild/player.

The challenge was gearchecks and working toward the goal of actually getting items to progress though. It wasn’t that it was mechanically hard, just numbers hard and getting new gear built up felt good. The way they have it now, MC is already obsolete right out of the gate coz you don’t need the gear from earlier bosses to actually clear the damn thing. It’s pointless.

The guild who did the onyxia kill literally got half the group wiped with a deep breath and 10 or so sub 60s in greens finished it off at 40% hp.
This is in no way authentic, unless you are claiming the average iq for 99% of the playerbase in vanilla was lower than koko the gorilla’s

How would you recommend they remedy this? The only way I could think of is by raising the bosses’ health and damage numbers.

Has nothing to do with rose tinted goggles. No need to be a condescending jerk. I am legitimately confused how Blizz managed to screw this up by putting us on the latest vanilla patch possible which makes content obsolete right out of the gate.
This isn’t a genuine experience for vanilla, nor anything really close to it as someone who DID play back in the day. This ISN’T how mc and ony worked back then because it required gearing, something that was completely skipped by these guilds because of the patch they put us on. That’s my issue here, not rose tinted anything, you condescending jerk.

Not mad, but you seem to be the one coming into threads being mad about something enough to ack like a jerk to people with concerns over the numbers of bosses in this patch. This game is as it was in 1.12, when NAX was about to drop and most people had already geared up and cleared ony, mc, etc., NOT when only MC and Ony were available as raids, dude, which is my ENTIRE POINT. That you don’t understand that is not my problem, but yours. As it stands right now, there is 0 point to do classic raiding because of the late patch we’ve been put on, coz the gear is obsolete from the start without having further raids to gear up for. They put us on too late of a patch.

Your concerns are unwarranted. Blizzard stated they are recreating the game as it was in 1.12. This is how it was. You’re not getting any patches prior to this.
