Got level 20 yet?
He hasn’t convinced himself. He’s just using the “who you gonna believe? Me or your lyin’ eyes” argument.
I think most players care about the cost more than the saved profiles. I’d go for changing the cost first and discuss the profiles after separately.
One can be argued as solvable by in-game measures, the other can’t. I think spec profiles are the bigger win first and the more likely to be considered early.
It’s not much of a win at all. I doubt that it will significantly change the number of people respeccing to tank or heal dungeons or to do pvp. Because the major reason people aren’t respeccing often is because of the gold cost less so because of the hassle to redo the talents and bars.
I strongly disagree, it’s entirely why I don’t swap - my decision to not PVP or swap to prot randomly is entirely due to the pain involved in doing it, not in the gold cost.
Since adding in profiles would be some amount of difficult (I don’t know how difficult). I was thinking they just Unlocked the talent trees. No hard specs (for now). No cost (OR a 1 time cost of 1,00g) to change specs, and the ability to adjust your spec on the fly (save maybe arenas). Simple easy efficient, and minorly inconvenient needing to still move points around each time.
we can fiddle with profiles down the road. lol
You understand that dual spec is specifically a combination of the ability to swap between 2 player set specs, for free right? Not a talent tree unlock.
The code already exists for spec profiles, that’s what was written for wrath. Implement that early, and then the folks who want to talk about gold cost can have at it - one affects the economy, the other doesn’t.
I’m not disagreeing that the gold cost is also a factor that keeps people from flexing between specs. I’m suggesting that one is far easier to argue the merits of.
They did for multi spec, if you bothered reading the link I posted.
Auto correct op.
I don’t even know what this says, what’s formation spec?
You have once again had your arguments unraveled by evidence and are trying (unsuccessfully) to move the target. Can’t you just admit you’re wrong and move on?
Fixed the auto correct
Not at this time =/= “no.” It’s the exact same language they used when talking about Seal of Blood on Alliance:
Actually, “not something we intend to allow at this time” sounds less like a definitive “no” than “currently no plans for any changes in this regard.”
Take the L.
Lol, never gonna see 20 on this toon. it’s a level 19 twink just to make things clear,
They used the same type of language when they said no to banning input broadcasting software. It’s typical for blizzard to never say absolutely never.

“This has been addressed many times before and I have to tell you, the answer is still “no” to both for the same reasons we’ve always given. There should be real investment into choosing a spec and reducing the cost or making it easy to do simple swaps would make the whole purpose moot.”
"You’re assuming a bit much here. Your assumption is that we haven’t asked this question many times before or even more recently. I’m not mouthing off or giving cliche’d responses. I’m giving you the straight answer that the answer is still, “no”. I’m not going to say it’s under consideration or that I’m going to ask them again about it when we have asked, it’s not under consideration right now and it’s not changing from the way it is currently. The costs are deemed reasonable.
Also, I wanted to point out that the argument about people respeccing for Arena teams makes the assumption that everyone is somehow running in one and thus needs multiple respecs. This is not true. Not everyone is respeccing between PvE and PvP and it’s not a majority of players that need to.
I gave a clear and direct answer on this based on recent discussions. You can believe that as you wish."
Have the devs said anything about dual spec and it even being on the table and up for consideration beyond the forums and in any official manifestation?
The devs almost always say nothing until they make the announcement that a change is happening. They said input broadcasting software would never be banned for 16 years then announced it was banned with out a single word of warning or discussion. They said nothing about the 30 day limit on dungeons until they announced it. They said nothing about changing arena start points to zero until they announced the change. That’s just how they almost always make changes.
No would have sufficed, I appreciate the effort put forth repeating yourself for the umtienth time, but honestly, you’re circumstantial based assumptions bear no weight when discussing facts. You are entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts, and truth is a totalitarian state and not open to a vote.
Most people it seems to me want to live in a black/white yes/no world. They like the simplicity of it because they have simple minds that aren’t capable of dealing with the complexity and nuance of reality. I get that you want simple yes or no answers but I don’t post for you. I don’t care about you at all. I post for the rational intelligent people reading the forum. I’m not going to dumb down my posts so that you’re able to understand them.
