Why not simply let you refund the talent points whenever you’re in a rest area, no fee?
Seriously, why the half-measure that has been proven to not be enough?

that would fix it
ture and real
Perhaps implement something like the Tome of the Tranquil Mind that drops from heroics/raid bosses
Perhaps we can just not add anything. Game is fine as is. We all move on and play WOLTKC where we can all get dual spec.
I can’t see any of that because you’re still blocked from when you wanted me to apply it. As for dual spec, a better question is why haven’t they done it already.
I would be fine with that too, but dual spec is a known feature.
It’s not tho
What confuses you about how dual spec works?
You go a trainer pay 1000g, you now have a second spec you can switch to, changing either of your specs goes requires going to a trainer.
So riddle me this, say I’m a fury warrior, and I want to dual wield. You’re telling me I have to pay 1000g to switch between weapons. That’s not dual-wield.
Same with dual-spec. If you cannot switch to your secondary spec at your convenience, then that’s not dual spec. You’re paying to change your spec.
Dual spec does allow you to switch to your second spec at will, it’s a one time fee to learn the ability…
Dual spec is a feature that was used for IIRC 2-3 expansions between WotLK and MoP.
Refunding talents in rest areas is a feature that has been used from WoD onwards in retail.
It’s not only already a known feature; it’s how retail currently works.
It’s honestly annoying- asking for dual spec is acknowledging a problem exists, acknowledging that it needs a solution, and then asking that the solution be deliberately expensive/annoying/limited as a compromise. If you’re actually correct about it being a problem, do not compromise, and solve the problem.
Poor people trying to argue their way into dual spec UwU
I’m not arguing for dual-spec; I don’t want it. But to say it’s already in the game is the worst argument you can make against it. I want it left out for authenticity.
Well not really, because that talent system includes a lot more than just refunding talent points. The talent trees no longer exist in that system.
Whereas dual spec is a system that exists with the current talent tree system.
Ok, but… so what?
The system exists. The fact it’s for different talent trees doesn’t invalidate it. Otherwise, that same argument exists against implementing dual spec, as it was never implemented for the TBC talent tree either.
Stop settling for half-measures that are deliberately inconvenient. It’s either a problem or it isn’t.
Once again dual spec is both a known feature we know exactly how it would work with the current talent trees(trying to use the retail system would be a huge mess, for example you can’t just change a talent since there are actual dependencies) and it’s something that covers the use case for many many people.
And even if it’s not perfect it’s also much better than nothing.
Look, I don’t have a ton of faith in blizzard either.
But… all they have to do is add “left click to spend point, right click to unspend point” to the current system. Yes bugs are possible, and may need to be fixed, but I mean… transplanting WotLK era code into the legion codebase ALSO generates bugs, frequently, so “using an existing system” doesn’t skip that step.
It’s not an incredible ask of them. Why settle for better than nothing? Why settle for deliberately not fixing the problem?
Ask for what you actually want, not some half-measure that you think you can get.
Dual spec is adequate in the current talent systems, and asking for a known system(which likely already is in the code but disabled) is more likely to happen than asking for a new system
So choose your battles
Awkward moment when I agree with the people I’m arguing against…
