"Why are undead night elves joining their killers?"

Arthas isn’t around anymore. Also he had Nerzuhls power, and if Sylvannas could control minds she would have done so with Derek Proudmoore. Also Delaryn and Sira are raised by players not Sylvannas.

Yes, bad things need to happen to build a story. And sometimes, these events can be upsetting because we’re emotionally invested. But they also need to make sense within the established world of the story, and many of the things people are complaining about do not.

Quite honestly, I see fewer complaints about “bad thing happened and made me sad” and more complaints about “bad writing happened and made me mad.”

Gee, too bad Maiev and literally the entire Night Elf army weren’t right there BEGGING Sira to rejoin them.

Oh, wait. They were.

If we are going by Sylvanas foresaken, they are MAD at the alliance, and feel ABANDON.

It really flew right above your head, didn’t it?

Don’t worry
‘The war between the Horde and Alliance will culminate in something deep and meaningful.’
I can smell the wretched stench of writing off genocide as a good thing by these horrible devs.

And your eyes are yellow with cowardice.

It will culminate in Horde and Alliance getting stronger because of the fight and finally teaming up to fight old Gods.
Ofc Night Elves would stay as pumpkin farmers and Stormwind hobo, but that’s a small price to pay.

Actually It’s yellow due to holy energy of the sunwell. Soon to be blue due to the fact that the sunwell is also composed of arcane energy.

I’d rather the old gods win. If the Alliance isn’t going to wipe the horde out I’ll side with whomever is willing to get the job done.

And actually a new moon =/= the void but if you’re going to say nonsense about the night warrior eyes being ‘the void’, then golden eyes are cowardice, a natural trait of the blood elf race.

Yeah good luck with that.

ya, player choice matters, but only for the Horde. We can never go against king muh bones hurt, let’s be friends of Stormwind.

It was obviously a joke, no need to get defensive.

And I was joking too, but you did your ‘akshually’ response to me, so

I’m frustrated by the Darkshore story and Sira’s bizarre portrayal too, but night elf hate? Nah dude. It’s not malice, just lazy writing.

All Forsaken are mind controlled…I mean what other explanation for all of BfA is there?..

Agreed. It’s a last ditch effort to cling on to some semblance of the life they had. They’ll do anything to stay alive.

I Imagine whisps as kind of an after image of the spirit. Sort of like a mirror of what they used to be. Not really the spirit, but just a shell that stayed behind. The actual spirit of the person moved on.

Some people don’t want to move on. Some people don’t want to die. You have to remember that a lot of Night Elves are 10’s of thousands of years old, if not more. To have that long life come to an end after having experienced so much would be terrifying.

You also have to consider that for the longest time Night Elves were literally immortal. They couldn’t age, nor could they be damaged thanks to the blessings of the Dragon Aspects. This changed when Malfurion blew up Nordrassil.

People are actually once again afraid to die. The whole “Wardens give up everything” is all nice and fine when you literally can’t be killed. But once you can… Your mind changes.

Emphasis mine. Where have I heard a similar outcry before? Garrosh, anyone?

it was my understanding that the undead of Lordaeron became their own faction because they were cast aside by the humans in the alliance.

they had initially tried to seek assistance or acceptance by the humans, who turned their back on them… understandably they became their own people.

the Night Elves didn’t have that sort of time, they got ressed and went “yeah, were going to join the side that murdered our people, burnt our home, killed us and raised us into zombies…”

i mentioned it in another thread… but its akin to having the Mob kill your family, burn your house down and you deciding to join that very same mob…

outside of mind control, which doesn’t seem the case, and severe brain damage, the only other reason is very poor writing…

which is sad…
i thought blizz was better than this… hell, they even hired an actual writer to help with story… i don’t know if this was put together before she came onboard… i really hope that’s the case though

blizzard said that recent undead can be easily controled ebcause they are in a state of frenzy, after that, they regain their minds and decide what to do.

But with the night elves there is no frenzy, they just are totally ok with siding with sylvanas, and think that its good, the elf even try to boss us around, it NEED to be mind control, otherwise is indeed, bad writing for the rule of cool.

Could just be some actually just sympathize with the forsaken. No one nation is united in thoughts. each individual probably has his or her own insight. If thank about some rejecting and some taking it. Maybe the ones who taking does not see anything wrong.

War funny some people just see the other side better than their own side. Sympathizers are a valuable commodity in war. They provide intel, food, and local support. Well that my guess. As I cannot see mind control when they had to break that guy’s mind before she could bend will. Can not just say ok he has to be broken, rest we can. Seem like double ironic.
