Why are the Sethrak not joining the Horde?

As per title.

The Sethrak are ultra-violet, fanatical and territorial.
They should fit right in with the Horde.

Since they are the most Horde like race since, the Ogres, why not push for their membership?>

We only accept races in the visible spectrum.

Isn’t… everyone? I’m pretty sure if I walk into SW right now with weapons unequipped I will still be mobbed by guards and players who will then camp my body.

aye you will, the snakes are a little more vitriolic in their exclamations and actions than the non emotive generic guards though.

  1. The allied race system was setup for variants of existing races. Sethrak are in no way a variant of goblins or gnomes.

  2. I believe this hype for Sethrak only exists because of the Hype for vulpera and people got attached to this idea that it was going to be a goblin/worgen pairing. There has been other far more long requested races then Sethrak such as naga, ogres etc.

  3. Vulpera was the more obvious choice between sethrak and vulpera.

They just weren’t ever intended to be playable so Blizz never geared the story or any effort to the idea. Vulpera became the better prospect that could be doable.

There’s lots of cool races out there that get requested a lot, but in the end the majority of them will never be playable for various reasons. Blizz can’t say yes to everything.

The snake is a consistent representation throughout human history and is a natural symbol of animal power.

They are already ‘deeply’ established within the BFA instrument and have implied social constructs; society, religion and military power.

They are batpoop crazy just like all the other horde races (minus the tauren and vulpera).

They are more likely to join the Horde more than anything else.

But they don’t fit any playable faction if i could be real with you.

They got their loa back. Let em chill for a bit with their Mom Snake

Didn’t you know?
Vulpera are a sub-race of Goblins, obviously.
Can’t you see how green and money-driven the Vulpera are?

Sethrak would have fit the horde better than vulpera.

Well there’s your problem - nobody would be able to see them even if they did join.

They are a variant in so far as the rig goes.

The voice effects and their character models are both different and unique, while ‘beast’ race fits nicely with the horde as a non-human standard race.

It would be nice to do something that fits the overall themes of the horde races over fan serivce. Like the ying to the yang.

its balanced.

A more balanced option would have been gilgoblins paired with mechagnomes.

Honestly I could see them being a good candidate to have 2 factions. The followers of Sethrallis joining the horde and the Faithless joining the alliance.

A couple of things I would like to point out.

No one ever said yes or no to Sethrak joining the Horde… eventually. It could still happen. It is also (though far less likely) for them to join The Alliance. The Sethrak you speak of (The Faithless), I am not sure would be welcomed in The Horde, with the recent addition of the Vulpera. Who you know… were enslaved and tortured by the Faithless Sethrak.

Also, Shadowlands spoiler below that could pertain to this general topic if you are interested.

Spoilers There is a Sethrak character in Shadowlands. I would gander she might be pretty important since she is one of the Soulbinds.

And another thing. If you’re really that invested in Sethrak, (I am) maybe add an in game suggestion. It’s under the Help Tab. Help-> Submit Suggestion. :snake: I and other Sethrak fans would appreciate your support.

except gilgoblins are bit players in the overriding story attached to the Highborn. they are well established in the story.
The Sethrak are a pre-existing military power with strong identity and ethos.

They fit.

The unshackled are a small group of a minority.
