Their problem will be unless they manually pan the view up or down while flying, the game will assume they are trying for a perfectly flat flight path. This works, but they’ll lose speed and eventually have to land once they use up their vigor.

People are used to “normal” flying because it has been in the game since TBC. Yes, it’s not “active” in the way Dragonriding is, but that’s why people like it. It’s an old debate, anyway, between the pro and anti-flying crowd, and it’s just well past its sell-by date as a discussion, really.

In any case, Dragonriding is fun, I think, but I can also see why people don’t like it as a baseline transport system – because after the “fun” wears off, transport is something you just want to be fast and brainless for the most part. In any case, it’s clear that Blizzard will come up with various ways to keep people from flying in the normal way in new content for as long as they can, and this is the latest, and definitely the most creative, way they have decided to do that. I don’t expect we’re ever going back to the days of getting to max level, buying may level flying, and being able to fly everywhere, which is what we were used to before WOD.

Personally if it means getting flight day one going forward, bring on DRing. lol.
anything to keep from having to be ground bound like an idiot who forget to bring his flying mounts along every frikkin expansion. lol

Plus, what we are asking for is options to be able to opt out.

That is extremely problematic for people that do not want to do anything with DR IMVHO. Hopefully there is a way to be able to not participate in DR at all some time in the future. Crossing my fingers.

I have to say I am really enjoying both these “we don’t like DR” threads that keep getting replies today. Not because I really care one way or the other, but the acrimony and resentment between pro- and anti-DR is absolutely delicious and shows Blizz still has no ability to read their audience.

The whole false dichotomy from the “this is how we get flying day one” is equally amusing to me as if that is a real choice. The only reason we don’t get regular flying day one (or at least a PF to unlock it) since WoD is Ion’s inflated ego and hate for designing zones around flying. And now he designed expansion zones with flying in mind and gave a big “haha monkey paw/corrupt-a-wish” to everyone just for the lols. Truly expert level trolling.

This is going to get SO much worse in the next week or so when people can’t just aim and alt-tab out while flying long distances and have to completely relearn how to fly based on bare minimum instructions in game. I can’t wait.
