Why are people suddenly crying about Dragonriding?

I’ve seen a few people complaining about this today and it doesn’t make sense to me. Dragonriding looks fun as hell, and if it’s anything like soaring for Dracthyr then it is fun as hell.

“But I don’t want it to be mandatory! I just wanna fly regularly!”

So you’d rather just hit numlock and go in a direction? That’s not gameplay. That’s basically just a loading screen while you go to different gameplay. You want a loading screen.

The fact that traversing the world is a game mechanic that’s designed to be fun is actually incredible. Would you complain that web-slinging in Spiderman is mandatory? Or that driving in Max Max is mandatory? If it’s fun enough, which it looks to be, then it’s not a problem at all.

Complaints over it have been going on in here for over a month.

In my defense, I don’t frequent the forums too much. And when I have been, most of the complaints have been about balancing issues or the fact that Soar was nerfed.

ah…I see. That would be why.
Yeah, its been an ongoing thing because some dont like new things and others are worried, like my wife, that her motion sickness isnt going to allow her to do it well, or at all. We’ll find out this week, I spose lol.

Dragonriding’s only downside to me, at least, is that you gotta use one of the pre-selected mounts.

I don’t know if most people realize, you buy can fly all over, land, do a quest, and by the time you are done, your energy charges have recharged and you can fly again right away.

You’ll probably have to take a flight path between zones, but if you’re just flying around doing dailies, you’ll spend enough time doing the daily to earn back your energy.

Yes. And passive flying has been “gameplay” since TBC…its silly to move the goalposts now.

Both types of flying have their positive and negative aspects, but it would be nice if they allowed players to choose at launch instead of forcing everyone into the new system.

because one person did and it got attention and now other people want attention.

I guess my main problem is that I can’t do it. I’m 54, not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I tried for an hour (waiting 4 minutes after each failure) to complete the first Soar quest and it’s impossible. Knowing that I will have to do that for each character is very upsetting. Might as well not play if I can’t get around any other way.

People who complain about dragon riding don’t know how to do it. The only valid point is you can’t AFK while doing it. Other than that, it is faster than regular flight by a long shot. Once you pick up all the glyphs, it is cool as heck.

Since it was announced it has received really harsh feedback.

Most people have not even tried the system and hated it non stop…

…but that usual business here on forums, so carry on.

I’ve tried it and still prefer using a regular flying mount over dragonflight.

Some players like trolling. I don’t understand the post today about opting out of dragon riding. I have agreed with that poster in the past.

I hope they add normal flying later. This is a problem for me personally if they don’t. I like to afk and also use my second account in open world with double mounts.

In regards to the title…because people are never happy with anything anymore

I don’t think most people (including myself) realized until today that there wont be Pathfinder, and we won’t be able to ever use our flying mounts (to fly) in the whole DF expansion.

Really early on if you don’t go hunting for Glyphs immediately, perhaps. But with even just a few upgrades, it can get you pretty far.

The soar quest has an instant refresh button. Do it as many times as you like, instantly. I’m 60 something, with a brain injury so yes, it took me a few tries to get the hang of it but it is entirely possible and even fun.

Its because the entire expansion new “feature” is flying mounts 2.0… Who cares.

It’s probably the same person using alts.

Because people always seem to need to whine and cry about anything and has to make posts about it. They will never be happy with WoW yet here they are still actively playing.
