Why are people so upset at new ah mount?

They see it as another step on a slippery slope as pay to win - at the very least its pay for quality of life/convenience improvement.

Which might be the case if it was only available for IRL money. But because WoW Token exists, literally everything in the shop can be obtained exclusively via in-game currency. And in-game currency (even in large amounts like that needed for this mount and it’s predecessor at 3X the cost of this one) is not in any way difficult to obtain.

Wow Tokens which are put on the market with real world money…? And those who sell them get gold - which also could be considered another step in pay to win.

lmao…theres nothing to ‘win’ in this game with $$$ or gold. You have to earn anything that really matters for ‘end game’ thru the game. lol

stop being so dramatic for god sake.

I’m presenting the reasoning people have - I personally could care less… the only other thing to note is that Blizzard is using this as a cash cow which the previous mount wasn’t.

For each mount sold - that’s a minimum of $90 USD extra in their pocket - and $120 USD if the mount was purchased through tokens.

The previous mount you could get through a gold price which could mean $0 extra dollars in Blizzard’s pocket for that mount - or god knows how many tokens some people bought to reach the 5 million gold mark.

And the fact is - when corporations seem overtly greedy - people don’t like it.

This is really the crux of it. Folks can justify the purchase however they want, but moves like this generate a lot of backlash and noise in the forums.

Mad because bad

lmao…NOTHNG to justify son. I spend MY money any way I CHOOSE. I dont answer to anyone else about it. Nothing to justify.

I see a lot of whining about it lol. As if you cant just CHOOSE not to buy a mount you dont NEED to play the game and move along. lol

Yes, exactly! People whine. Pandas whine about the whining. It’s a lot of backlash and noise.

Mom, Dad… please stop fighting.

Yes, you’re right. Agreed. Some people bought it, some people didn’t. Some love it, some hate it. We’re all entitled to our feelings. We’re all mature enough here to accept that and to allow others the choices they’ve made without disparaging them.

We are not. We are mad at these threads.

WoW has 0 Microtransactions and the cost of a Microtransaction can NOT go up. If it does? Its no longer a Microtransaction.

Microtransactions are $1-5 transactions that you make a LOT of. Its not one transaction and done. They are a TRAP. Its $2 here and there. You make a lot of them because they are small and feel “cheep”. But you look at them say over 30-60 days they tally up to over $100 and in games that have them many people have spent over $500 without realizing it. Happens more often with younger folks. WoW does not have microtransactions at all thankfully. If they ever move to a F2P model? Then it 100% Would!

The OPTIONAL items in the in-game shop is what has kept our sub cost the same since 2004. Without it sub cost would have gone up years ago. Amazon Prime started at $5.99. There is some perspective for you.

So this is very much a Pick your poison kind of thing.

The only thought I had was… $90 is a strange number to land on, but I’m not exactly sure why it hit me that way. I don’t have any interest in buying it, but didn’t experience any hard feelings about it one way or the other.

Its a price of an expansion, so you imagine how many they sold by just making a mount

No one needs to “justify” anything. Either they want it, and buy it. Or don’t want it, and don’t buy it. It’s really that simple.

And in either situation, the person’s ability to play the game or participate in game content remains unaffected. The only folks whining are ones that seem to be unable to pick which one of those two options they want to take, or people who seem to laughably think their personal choice in the matter somehow carries more weight than someone else’s choice in the matter.

If you don’t like or want the mount… just don’t buy it. It’s literally that simple.

PoE mounts are more expensive, are they?

adults would have just looked at the price, decided it wasnt worth it, and moved along like 3 weeks ago

You’d think lol.
I think THEY think if they keep whining that Ion will relent and drop the price lol.
Because we all know how easly he was convinced to drop the price of the last bruto…oh wait…lmao
