Good idea! Why don’t you go make a thread about it. I’m sure it’ll blow up with 1000s of posts if it’s a heavily desired feature, the way dual spec is.
I’m against removing the consequences of respecing. Tbc was designed with these consequences intentionally. And tbcc is advertised as an authentic recreation of tbc. Which means the design goal intentions (especially the ones with a clear answer to them like dual spec has) should be respected.
A consequence of respeccing is having to rearrange all your bars and addons and gear, but you just said you were OK with that because there are addons that do it for you (and blizzard has integrated addon functionality into the UI for years as a design principle).
So you’re just here to tell people to git gud and farm gold, but you’re actually OK (and support) the dual spec capability in the actual game itself. You just want people to pay 50g each time they swap. I personally have no problem with this - I just want to very clearly define your position so you all can keep the discussion to the points that are in contention.
Yes tbcc completely copies the original “intention” of the game.
Don’t mind our 58 boost, paid mounts, toy, hearthstones, phase system, t5 not out at launch, early prenerfs, removed attunements, mage boosting, gdkps, bots, arena boosts, comp stacks, min maxing, million hours of YouTube videos, lifestyle change, technology changes… I promise you this is the exact iteration of the game we played in 2007!
Therefore since we have an exact replica of the game we therefore cannot grant you something that will be in the game anyways in 8 months. Nope not allowed!
Those “consequences” can already be bypassed with add-ons. The gold cost can’t.
You have add-ons that can save talent templates and your bar set up templates. Blizzard putting this into the base game only makes a difference to people not already using these add-ons. But there is no addon that removes the gold cost or the need to return to your trainer.
