Why are people excited for the stress test?

People still reacting like 15 years ago lol that seems all this time serve them for nothing cuz a mature person will AVOID any kind of betas in purpose to start FRESH the 27 august…

Blizzard make a BETA of something you can play on private servers since 10 years ago /facepalm lol

Hogger raids and Menethil Harbour Death Runs to see if the servers break or if my computer breaks is exciting enough for me.

I’ve leveled through vanilla, tbc and Wrath numerous times. I don’t need to beta test leveling a new toon to spoil the fun for me when live hits.

I’ll do some stress tests and visit some starting zones, report bugs and be on my way until launch.

Nobody keeps anything from beta and it’s not going to be practice for anyone who has done it dozens of times in the past.

I would like it if they left the stress test server up for 2-3 days. Not sure if level is capped the whole 24 hours or just during the 2 hour stress part.

I got an invite. I suspect they picked a certain group of people who weren’t likely to stick around if they encountered tagging frustration and that’s me. It will probably help them determine how many people to expect to keep going after the first few days.

it is capped at 5 for the 2 day period - if you got an email it tells you in there.

  1. I’m keen to see what it’s going to be like playing from level one when everyone else is at the exact same time, it’ll give a taste as to what launch will be like rather then just guessing.

  2. It’ll also be nice to just get in and see what the game feels like.

  3. It’s necessary and will be helpful for game launch.

This has literally been said nowhere.

I’m excited mainly because I know exactly how these kinds of things tend to go. Since time will be limited, everyone will do crazy things. An army of level 5s swarming through the zone, yelling and looking around in awe at how the game used to look.

And then a dev spawns Onyxia on them.

Because it’s fun to be a part of the making of Classic WoW!

Because I have 3 rigs to test
1600p gsync laptop with nvidia 1070
4k tv with a nvidia 1080
6880x2880 120hz gsync with an nvidia 2080 ti. (that’s 3440x1440 at 200% resolution scale)

In the blood elf zone of bfa I get around 80-90fps at that crazy high resolution. I want to know if classic will be inherently optimized enough to push that up to 120. I imagine the smaller textures, shorter view distance, and classic wow textures should give a good boost.

Or KT spamming long-range frostbolts in all directions.

I don’t remember taking a personality test or anything, so if that’s the criteria they’re using to select people, I’m not sure where they got the data.

This isn’t for leveling, that’s why they capped it at the starting zone levelish. They are testing how the servers hold up. That’s it.

Also going for world first stress test server Hogger kill wussup.

Based on age of account would be a pretty good indicator I suspect.

I’m actually super happy I got into the stress test. I wasn’t expecting to get into the beta at all due to my account only being created in mid-cataclysm (even though I played before that, just on a different one).

I really don’t WANT to be in the full beta because I feel that I’d take up a slot for someone who SHOULD be there. I am a wrath baby. I couldn’t spot a bug unless it was something super obvious, like a texture problem.

So being a part of the stress test is super fun for me because it’s something I can actually help with. It’s my way of helping with Classic in what I feel is a good way for me to be useful

And not getting in makes you feel like a bum who they won’t even let into Costco… :frowning:

Even though I’m a bum who entered the first Costco ever built when it was considered new.

Mayyyyybe a nice little gift to those who participate might be a small feat of strength achievement? That way you actively encourage participation from all over the current game audience. Plus in ten years when a forum argument breaks out about being there day 1 of classic’s launch you can lord it over the crath babies who only turned up at the start of classic wrath.
100 years of solitude is a beautiful book. You should all read it.
