Why are my payments taking longer to clear?

Everytime i make a deposit, my payments just take longer and longer. What is causing this? I thought after a while they just clear almost instantly. This one is less then 20 bucks and taking longer then first one.

Is there a serious outage I am not aware of?

Payments take up to 24 hours to clear with the exception mainly with paypal as it takes that long for your bank to actually submit the funds requested by whatever institution that you are purchasing through.

That doesn’t make sense. Some of the bigger deposits i’ve made have been instant. It seems like they randomly target ones and purposely make you wait.

Then, by all means, contact your bank and ask them why they are holding the funds from being transferred to Blizzard.

I might just file a chargeback and find another way to make this deposit. They really left me no choice.,

If you file a chargeback, then your account will be blocked until you repay the payment amount. It is your bank holding the funds, not Blizzard. And, to repay the funds, you won’t be able to use any credit cards, only battle.net balance cards purchased at a store.

It is blizzard. This was verified by my bank.

Your bank is lying to you then.

Before submitting a chargeback, which can indeed have negative consequences for your account, submit a ticket here: https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/contact/1995/ticket

That type of ticket is prioritized and a GM will be able to look into the purchase to see what’s going on.

I am not sure what is causing this to be honest. My account must be flagged or something because I have never had this problem until recently. Every deposit i make now takes longer then the first even if its smaller. Zero sense.

Actually, that makes perfect sense. Most fraud prevention systems look for specific patterns in purchases, and some might be held for manual review. I’m not saying that’s what happened here, but it is possible.

Put in the ticket and a GM will take a look.

NOTE: You can also check your Transaction History to see if there’s anything you need to confirm.

is there any way to cancel the current deposit?

Your only option would be to put in a ticket at the link I posted above.

Really a shame living in 2023 and payments still take days to clear.

The current year doesn’t have anything to do with it. Many security systems and fraud prevention systems are in place to prevent unauthorized purchases. The fact it’s taking longer could be due to the systems making sure you did indeed make those purchases. Most of the time it goes through immediately if it passes all checks, but some transactions are held for manual review.

Case in point: I’ve had orders cancelled I placed with Walmart because they needed to ensure I was indeed the one making the purchases since I had a bunch of purchases within a short timeframe.

As I said already, you do need to put in a ticket to have this looked into.

From experiences on Reddit, people are saying these deposits can take weeks even… GJ blizzard.

I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather them take their time if multiple deposits are being made to ensure that neither my bank account nor my WoW account had been compromised.

It’s 2023 and yes, banks still do need time to process things, as does Blizzard. Every transaction comes with a disclaimer that it could take up to 24 hours (some services may take up to 72) to process. Especially knowing your payment took some time to process before, it shouldn’t be out of the question for you to expect there to be a delay again.

It’s just a matter of patience, I’m sorry to say. Hopefully, it’ll clear through or a GM can help. But just to keep expectations on point, Blizzard does warn that refunds can take 3 - 10 business days to process usually - if they’re able to refund your balance.

Honestly, this normally isn’t a good gauge of what truly is and isn’t. But in this rare case, they are correct, as per the linked articles I posted.

Have you put in a ticket? The sooner you do, the sooner you can get this issue resolved. Posting on the forums isn’t a way to contact a GM, and the Blizzard staff who post here won’t be able to do anything other than tell you to submit a ticket.

I did. Doubt anything will happen. Probably will get their canned auto response soon. I will never make another deposit after this. What a horrible company.

Refunds are automatic the first time thats normal you can ask for a 2nd pair of eyes and a actual GM will take a look at it and for the LOVE OF ELUNE DONT DO A CHARGE BACK.
