Why are my payments taking longer to clear?

Blows my mind that the system might think its fraud. Like i’d risk my account for $18.

The point of fraud detection is that it might not be YOU doing it at all.

I have this conversation with customers regularly. I’m not asking questions because I think you are doing something wrong, I’m asking them to make sure someone isn’t doing you wrong.

I don’t know what’s up with your Blizzard payments, just saying that if it’s about fraud prevention, they don’t necessarily think you, the legit account holder, are the problem.

I mean, initiating a chargeback for no valid reason is fraud…

Lmao you have zero understanding of how banking works but ok.

Anyways for those wondering, it is still pending. Something tells me this payment will fail.

I dont think i have ever seen a worse payment processor then blizzards.

Count your blessings and consider yourself lucky, cuz I know I sure have. And they were physical merchant locations.

Though to answer your OP, yours most absolutely would not be the only thread on the subject if there were a serious outage.

Im done making deposits here. What a horrible experience this has been. Im not renewing my sub after my time left.

Sounds to me like you’re just trying to pick a fight instead of listening to what your fellow players are trying to tell you. Many of these folks have helped other players in similar situations with their accurate advice. It would be best to relax and await. And as long as your ticket was categorized properly you wouldn’t get an automatic response. And best yet as long as you explained the situation calmly and with the needed details the GM can and will help you to the best of there ability.

OP’s been here often enough before that, yes, he knows how Blizzard works… and yes, he’s just trying to pick a fight.

Let the SFAs deal with him and let him otherwise fart into the wind.

I have the right to complain here. What gives you the right to barge in here accuse me of such nonsense.

Also technically no, you really don’t. That would mostly be for General Discussion, but that’s also usually part and parcel with constructive criticism (not the venting that you’ve displayed here) as well as ideas that might make it better.

Actually, you don’t. This forum is one for players to assist other players. The SFAs do not collect feedback, nor do they relay it along. Once it gets to a point of going around in circles, threads get locked down or deleted once they just turn into ranting and grumbling.

You’re entitled to feel as you do, but you’re not being realistic in expectations of how businesses operate or at the very least in how transactions work. I feel bad that you’re upset, but it’s tempered somewhat due to the fact that you just went through this the other day and for some reason expected it to be different than it was then. I don’t particularly care how you think things shoulder operate because in literally every business, be it online or brick and mortar, transactions are not instantaneous. Things authorize and that is what most people see and THINK is a full-on charge, then it’s pending before it finalizes out as a completed transaction.

TL;DR - you knew your transaction the other day was processed slower than you expected it to. You did it again and thought it would be different, and were proven incorrect and now you’re irritated and are stomping your foot.

If you want to properly submit feedback or suggestions, posting to the in-game suggestions and feedback interface is the way to go. Complaining just to complain doesn’t really belong on any of the forums.

However you end up doing things and whether you stay or go, I do wish you well wherever your gaming takes you.

With the increase of fraud hurting blizards bottom line yes things take longer. Any fraud they loose money and they would rather avoid that as much as possible. So if things take a little longer be patient.

If not go to your local store or amazon and buy blizard balance cards and add them and use the blizard balance.

I completely get that but why would i risk my account over $20 and its not my first time making a deposit. This is what I dont get. Anyway, i called my bank and they told me its weird how blizzard did the transaction. They looked at previous transaction by blizzard and it was a standard auth, followed by completion of the transaction. This one was setup as a preauth just to make sure the funds were there (so it didn’t count against my balance) and it was approved by my bank within that moment but blizzard has not done anything to complete the transaction. My bank is telling me this is on them now.

As for the remainder, so it is in processing mode and can take 24h-72h, very normal. Check back again later and if it takes longer contact Blizzard through ticket.

With people getting their accounts hacked and the gold buyers using them to buy tokens and cash them in. Well I think you can see why if you buy a bunch of tokens it will trigger a manual review to make sure the account was not comprised. Other wise it would cause more headaches for them later on.

Here’s where I think the misunderstanding is. You see, banking systems don’t know you nor do they know if your credit card (or other payment types) may have been compromised. This has literally nothing to do with you, and more to do with standard banking practices. Banks watch for fraud when it comes to online transactions like this no matter what.

Some banks are even more stringent with their systems.

That said, the type of purchase you are making can also play a role in things. You see, if you were buying a name change, that would likely be something that Blizzard allows more leniency on as should the payment fail later, they simply lock the character.

In this case, you’re adding digital funds to the account as battle.net balance. This is a riskier transaction and likely why Blizzard and the banks wait for the actual payment to clear.

I hope some of that helps you to understand better, the nuances that take place behind the scene.
