i like the feeling of never feeling safe anywhere, plus pvp adds a lot to the gameplay
What evidence is there that most people are going to be on PVP servers? Just because streamers are, doesn’t prove anything. I expect most players will be on PVE servers as they were on Vanilla.
Oh my God, It’s Jason Bourne.
So do I. Which is why I’m playing on PVE permanently flagged for PVP. I like the feeling I could be killed at any time, and since I have no interest in ganking lowbies or camping corpses, being flagged gives me the rush I desire from a PVP server but also lets me chill with a fishing rod for an hour or so without getting ganked. Best of both worlds for me.
having the ability to toggle it on/off kinda removes the ‘fear’ factor tho
Because PVP is a large portion of vanilla. Not PVPing is just… weird. I understand wanting to play a PVE server though, the south park episode, ‘Make Love, Not Warcraft’ showed a good example.
That would be bada$$ if you could though. Like if certain towns had a quartermaster that you have to kill to make the town yours for your faction with all the quests associated with it. Then you could have other quests from small outposts to take the town back or something.
One can dream though right
I’ve played a lot of MMOs, and as for open world MMORPG, WoW has always had my favorite type of PvP experience.
Between skill levels, experience, and tricks you can do, I always come back to WoW for the most fun PvP. Especially WPVP.
Not if you have the nerve the keep it on all the time regardless, like I will. The only time I’ll unflag is, like I said, when I want to fish or just hang out in the world without the danger rush, which won’t be too often for me, but it will from time to time.
but your enemies may not. the option alone of it being there, whether you use it or not, removes the fear factor of the world.
You used a perfect example about fishing. How you can turn it on/off and compete for things like the STV fishing content at your own leisure… where as on a pvp server, if you won it you also had to content with others who could take you down by force.
It adds a whole new element of wpvp when you CAN’T be safe
Nah. It just got repetitive. Only so many options a player can take during pvp. Once you know every option a player has with the spec/professions. Countering them becomes a lot easier.
Not sure if trolling or just doesn’t realize that “craft” is a modifier of “war”.
Oh, I’m not trying to refute your claims. I respect the way you want to play. And you mentioned the STV fishing content, but again, that’s competitive. When I fish in game, I turn off the music, throwup a thunderstorm loop on YouTube and just chill. If an opposing faction wants to cozy up next to me and fish the same hole, so be it. I’m in peaceful mode. I’ll puff and pass.
Neither. It’s called tongue-in-cheek.
This is why Warmode isn’t an acceptable replacement for PvP servers on Retail.
My man /highfive.
I totally get where you’re coming from, and i don’t knock those like yourself who are gonna roll on PVE servers.
Plenty of WoW for us all.
I just personally roll PVP servers for that extra excitement. Every little crumb i can get ya know?
Have a good day man!
You DO know that the history of PVP servers is that they became overwhelmingly populated by one faction or the other thus rendering WPVP non-existent.
True, but even when you’re the underdog you can have quite a bit of fun in wpvp.
Warmode just doesn’t feel the same, it feels too artificial and zerg and less organic.
Plus, the way cross realm works we’re all nameless/faceless numbers in the crowd.
There was something really special about developing a rivalry with a particular player or guild on your pvp server.
Played on PvP servers since Vanilla. Wpvp was always existent on them in vanilla, bc, and wotlk. I personally roll on servers where my faction is outnumbered, so I have more people to kill.
Because the poor low levels of Redridge Mountains aren’t going to protect themselves from getting hit by 60s
