Why are most people going to a PvP server? ⚔

I feel like people are deluding themselves. World PvP has always been a one sided slaughter fest.

What’s going to happen is what always happens people will choose to go to heavily one sided servers where there is almost no counter faction.

Seriously who the uck actually did a large portion of world PvP content? Besides ucking rogues.

Non fair played doesn’t encourage people interacting. You know what happens when people feel they stand no chance of winning they leave. So what will happen as faction imbalance gets worse people will just transfer to other servers that have a better population in their factor. It’s what happened to all the major PvP servers.

I am fine with people disliking world PvP. What I hate, is people who dislike PvP “demonizing” people who like it.

Some people really say “You are a psychopath/sociopath”, “instable” or that kind of stuff because you enjoy doing WPvP.
Those people never played on a PvP server and don’t realize that

  1. Ganking doesn’t happen that often during leveling. It really doesn’t. Although it may be a bit more than normal the few first weeks after the launch of Classic. It is to be expected.
  2. You do kill some lowbies sometimes. But I do help them as well (enemy faction I mean). I see one struggling, or about to be killed by a mob. I will help. Sometimes I let two guys fight each other. But if I see 2 alliance attacking one horde of the same level, I will kill them no matter if they are level 30 and I am 60.

It’s not about honor, fairness. It’s just a game. You play the way you think you have to play. Getting killed is never fun, but you lose what 5-10 mins? You are getting camped? Just call the community to come and help. These are the best memories I have, as a camper or a camped.

Anyway, as I said, people who prefer playing on a PvE server, you do you. I dislike people justifying playing on a PvE server by demonizing people playing on PvP

I think some of it might be due to streamers. Not so much because streamers are on them, but it’s because pvp servers are what everyone is seeing right now due to streamers. Since there’s no high levels, they don’t get to see the bored high levels camping a corpse for an hour and that gives them a false impression of life on a pvp server lol

But mostly I think it’s that the start of a fresh pvp server is the safest time to roll on a pvp server because there’s no high levels to gank/camp you. That makes the release of a fresh pvp server the most popular time for people to join one.

Lol. You don’t need to vilify people who play a computer game that is not playable anywhere else. When I can actually play the game by legitimate means I will stop playing private servers.

I disagree.

All the polls from before the Beta (and since the announceMENT of Classic) were showing that vast majority of players want to play on PvP servers.
I think everyone knows what to expect where they log in on one and attributing that to streamer’s hype is a wrong conclusion.

It is just generally considered more fun on a PvP server. There are some “cons” but in the end, it is just a big part of WoW vanilla.

The point is that you know you’re breaking rules. As do the bad boy camp fiends. But it’s more likely to find them there, since rule breaking is part of the requirement to play there. Whereas the honest folk not wanting to break any rules and play nice aren’t there. You have less white knights coming to fend off the campers, and more disreputable folk playing. Just how things work. Not saying you’re all terrible people for playing there, but it is against rules, and everyone is aware of it.

You can say certain qualities in a person that go PVE or avoid conflict.

Sheltered, safe space, believe violence is always bad, self delusion, blame others, and you can go on.

You can say what you will but you can always say a mental illness for anything.

That is a misnomer. There are NO “honorable” PvP server players.

When the people who play on PvP servers stop constantly attacking and demeaning those that play on PvE, perhaps we will stop demonizing you. Until then, we give back what we get.

See above.

I don’t really see what’s exciting about playing zerg vs zerg honestly. Maybe at first it might be fun, but later on I’d be far too annoyed to deal with people trying to mess with me when I just want to level up. Not something I look forward to at all honestly.

Nah. If it’s red, it’s dead. Lowbies turn into 60s.

And the run to Raven Hill is brutal. Which is why I plan on camping an UD rogue there.

So there are no honorable sports players? Ever golfer is an evil fiend just out to win for themselves despite the other players trying to have fun? This is a game. PvP is part of the game. Thus it is not dishonorable to do.

Try to debunk me. I’ll wait.

Most of us don’t. The few that do, you should really just ignore. But give your recent history, you don’t seem to want to agree on anything. You just want to drag PvPers through the mud. Also clipping quotes without the prior context.

There’s the full context you elected to ignore, Fallanaa. He, as many other of us agree, have no problems with PvE players. We have problems with PvE players trashing PvPers by calling us sociopaths for playing an MMO video game as it was intended.

You’re not?

When PvP players stop trashing PvE players, perhaps we can stop trashing you back.

[citation needed]

Nope. Can you explain why you think I am?

Or… We could all lessen the trash talk regardless, and soon there will be no one for the rude people to meaninglessly argue with. They will be in their own little bubble of no one caring what they have to say. Because it’s just negativity anyway.

I can’t post links, cause forum rules. But wpvp is in the game. Thus it is intended. Otherwise people would get banned for ‘exploiting’ or something.

PvP will give the players something to do at 60. It gives those players the ability to have epic battles in world pvp, spilling over into nearly every questing zone.

I would rather not be ganked while questing by the horde of 60s – so I’m going to play on a PvE server.

“my anecdotal experience is more valid than your anecdotal experience!”

Gank server players, everyone.

Let me just quote you again, so that you have the context of what was said.

Reading comprehension is important here. At no point did I imply my anecdotal experience is more valid. Just that any SINGLE anecdotal point would debunk your ‘fact’. You made a definitive claim trying to make it a fact. It’s not. That is all I was suggesting. Plenty of folks opt into disadvantaged situations to test themselves. To see if they’re able to manage it. So no. You’re wrong.

“Gank server”… Please. Don’t join the negativity just because you’re unsure of how things work. PvP servers are not ‘gank’ servers. They’re just open world pvp viable. If you do not agree with that way of playing the game, play on the PvE servers, which is completely respectable. But don’t talk trash about others playing the game as intended.

Er link to your polls?

This is the problem: the juvenile name-calling from either side.
Apparently, if you play on PVE you’re a carebear, and if you play on PVP you’re a toxic sociopath. There doesn’t seem to be any middle ground on this. Maybe people fighting so hard to prove their server choice is “the best choice” should look inward and ask themselves why somebody else’s server choice triggers them so much.

Being called a sociopath in a video game is fine with me. Kind of an honor badge as far as I’m concerned. If carebears don’t like the label we give them, maybe they need to look inside and figure out why not?

If alliance players are terrorized by me in game, I am playing the game well.
