So clearly you have no intention of even listening to the other side. If all you want to do is hate on PvP players, do it in your own head please. Intentionally spreading misinformation harms the entirety of the playerbase, and causes more disputes and disagreements. (Inb4 ‘it’s all true though’. Anyone with half a cell of sense knows what you’re saying is not true. Some parts, yes. But the whole of your message is not.)
i agree with you here - griefing is NOT wpvp. most of us enjoy the thrill of doing stuff in the open world where at any time, some red bar can walk up on you while engaged with a bear and proceed to fight you over its meaty haunch. just yesterday, i helped a few horde kill a wq boss they were trying to solo. and of course, i was repaid the favor by getting jumped by the next 6 that came while waiting for the respawn…
PvP has always been full of the Spergs. They feel the need to get to endgame first. PvE players are actually a much larger group but you won’t see super early guild recruitment or masses following PvP streamers… cause they’re not PvP players & they don’t feel a rush to do content. Nothing wrong with playing the game how you want. Cackle
This is pretty much my thoughts as well. I see them in the current game going to lower level and even starter zones and killing flight masters while dropping their flags in the ground in order to start fights because even with the XP boost many aren’t choosing to WPVP. If there were true consequences for ganking people that have no chance of fighting back or those quest hubs were properly fortified where the opposing faction couldn’t come in and wipe everything out I’d consider a PVP server. Until then the gankers and griefers are just going to have to continue playing with themselves. I’ll stick to Battlegrounds where actual skilled people who aren’t afraid of a fair fight roll.
Citation needed.
That’s patently false. If you’re going to go down that line of thinking then it’s not pvp when a rank 14 60 goes against a level 55 player despite the latter still being worth honor points. In fact you could even argue a fresh 60 versus a naxx geared player isnt pvp because that fresh 60 stands no chance due to gear.
/join WorldDefense
You will be swamped with opportunities to engage in world pvp. You will engage with people looking for pvp, and don’t get to gank some random lowbie just trying to survive accidentally pulling an extra mob.
FREAKING PUH-LEASE. . . I cannot give this comment enough like/heart whatever!
I have been holding it in but omfg. . . ENOUGH STREAMER QQ. The only reason I feel like streamers are a major thing here is because ppl QQing about them making them bigger!!
It almost makes me want to play Current just to escape the “omg streamer this, omg that streamer got that why did I not?!”
The heart pounding adrenaline of knowing that there are rogues in the bushes… that enemy players are near and knowing that at any moment they could find you and strike you down…
The victorious cry of satisfaction that bursts from your lungs when you defeat your opponents in a 2v1 fight when you are outnumbered, the endless strategizing that you must do in order to be successful over the enemy faction.
The battles waged over resources, raid entrances, world bosses, chests and quest objectives…
But most of all, that feeling of pride you feel in your chest, standing over the bodies of your foes, knowing that you are a better player than they… to feel Invincible in victory… but also to feel humbled in defeat when you meet an adventurer that is your superior in skill or dedication.
PvP servers are about gaining glory and notoriety, to make a name for yourself across the world, its up to you how folks will see you… will you be a monster, a ganking turd? Or shall you be a kind player, who aids those weaker than you when in need? When everyone is in a position to attack one another in an instant… you learn what kind of player a person is.
Something about it makes the world feel… almost real.
I fully 110% support battlegrounds. That is called player VS player in my opinion.
I do NOT support killing low level players, camping people, “ganking becuz lulz” or killing because HNNGH RED IS DEAD.
Call me a carebear with emotional needs you so called player VS player people.
Pve advocates that dont like or understand pvp servers for whatever reason please read this post from a few above,
This player gets it!
hahahahahahahaha
that 2v1 starts when you are at 40% and have a mob beating on you. They club you down to 5% and then watch the mob finish you off so that you have a repair bill.
That’s what happens, not some fevered dream in which you are ambushed and heroically defeat multiple assailants who got the jump on you.
I have defeated 2 enemies on my own many times, usually by taking advantage of environmental factors, potions, engineering items, cool downs for such situations, and knowing the weaknesses of enemy classes.
Yes the situation you have stated does happen now and then, but if you are playing on a pvp server, you instinctively will have a broader sense of awareness about your surroundings. With enough time in on a pvp server, you will be better at seeing these ambushes coming, and be prepared for them.
Besides the folks that gang up and use these tactics are often bad pvpers who enjoy being pricks, they often do not pose a real threat to dedicated pvpers with a full compliment of pvp items, and consumables.
Just practice, and choose a good pvp class, and you too shall crush such underhanded fools
That’s great. A PVE server is perfect for you.
I’ve been experiencing the “other side” for years on pservers. I hated it.
World pvp is good in concept, but in practice, 99% of world pvp is just ganking. Nobody EVER attacks you unless you are at a disadvantage compared to them. Never ever. It’s always 60s riding by and 2shotting you, or some fug attacking you while you’re fighting a quest mob, or whatnot.
No thanks. If I wanted to PvP I’d join a battleground where it’s a fair fight.
That’s great. A PVE server will be perfect for you.
Because i like to kill other players while in the open world.
A “pserver”… which is, by definition, a place where rulebreakers play. Wouldn’t it make sense that the rulebreakers are probably less likely to be the ‘honorable’ types?
Firstly, not a statement you can make as fact. Because even one anecdotal story would prove that wrong, especially with the emphasis on EVER. Secondly, part of PvP is taking the advantage. Whether it’s a bit of gear, skill, first attack, etc. It is competition. Opt in competition. Which you don’t have to participate in. But if you don’t like it, it doesn’t mean you can smear the name of it just because you remember your negative experiences from illegal servers.
There is no honor in ganking and WPvP and by honor I mean respect, not the honor you earn.
There most certainly is. You’re just refusing to acknowledge it, like the other PvP haters here. It’s not always blatantly in front of you, or scripted to force you to have an honorable exchange, but it is there. Take off your blinders and look at the world.
The PvP haters rarely play on PvP realms, so I don’t expect them to have the experience behind these claims. Or if they did play on PvP servers, it was with so much fuss that they’ll fixate on a few bad experiences and chalk that up to the whole argument. If you don’t like PvP, that’s fine. Just keep it to yourself.
Both aspects are respectable and enjoyed by many. There is no need to usher hate toward anyone for their choice of play. (Except for the actual trolls and griefers, though remember, they are the numerical minority. Repeat that with me. Griefers are the numerical minority.)
