TBC is way better than retail. I’m really happy it’s available for us to even play. Yet most of the posts here are just complaining abou the game, over and over and over. I don’t get it.
Reported for complaining about complaining
Society has become one dependent on instant results and gratification. If they don’t get those, they look for something to grab onto and be angry about.
I think most of them have really bad OCD. All I could think of ever since Cata was “man I wish I could go back to tbc” and I got what I wanted. If people have issues with boosts and deluxe edition mounts thats fine, but its not gonna stop me from enjoying the game I love.
I could write an essay about why I’m miserable, if I weren’t so depressed.
Complain is the cheapest pleasure in life.
The pastime of complaining about WoW is older than WoW itself.
I dunno. Maybe it has to do with the fact that they care, and ignoring them is only going to be a detriment to the game. We already see people unsubbing in droves.
Disclaimer: the following does not necessarily reflect my personal views or opinions, just what I have observed from forum posts and activity.
The amount of complaining has more to do with the state of the game.
-
I think the biggest issue stems from the fact that Classic and TBCC are in no way what most of the legacy “old-school” WoW players wanted or expected.
-
Also, there just seems to be a general lack of concern from Blizzard about the overall quality and health of Classic and TBCC.
-
TBCC seems rushed and basic mechanics, difficulty levels and class skills/talents seem like they have issues or are off in some respects.
-
Customer Support is abysmal
-
Automated ban systems are too strict and too many mistakes are getting made.
-
Lack of Live GM interaction.
What you think is misery is probably mostly boredom.
Because they don’t understand what TBC represents.
TBC represents an actual RPG, not just a video game.
TBC represents hard work and the success that comes from it.
TBC represents cooperating with your guild and community for mutual goals.
TBC represents the best gaming experience that I’ve ever had.
They can’t stand that. They want to raid log, they want to ignore voice chat, and they want to rush to the end. You can’t do that in TBC and expect to be successful.
Our society has devolved into a culture of Karenistic victimhood, of entitled snowflakery, and I see no end to it.
These are technically the WoW forums, but a better name would be “WoW Complaint Center.” Nobody comes here to praise the game. They come here to complain. And then others come on here to argue with them. And the forums have been that way since 2004.
I’m miserable for a few reasons:
I play too much WoW in my life, and simultaneously I don’t play enough WoW for my goals.
I’m at work and sneakily posting to the forums. I would much rather be playing WoW.
This is the forums, where people mostly come to vent their frustrations. It’s unlikely you’ll find people who are here to just be happy, especially if they have read anything on the forums.
I’m an overweight, balding, lower middle class, underachieving man in my 30s with undiagnosed depression and a ton of other unaddressed personal issues.
Shall I go on?
It’s what the forumites do.
The .0005% of the population do not represent everyone who is actually in-game.
However, mob tantrums seem to dictate game changes… hence Recreational Outrage ™ gets the occasional payoff.
TBF, what people go to the forums? People that are happy, or people that have an issue?
It’s the same reason product or business reviews tend to be negative, people generally don’t bother to post if they are content.
TBCC might be better than retail but it’s still fallen very short of what actual TBC was, rose tinted goggles aside.
A lot of it has to do with how rushed/buggy it was and still is along with consequences of the paid boost on things like faction balance and other aspects of the game.
Don’t let a vocal minority misrepresent the game for you. Most players are happily enjoying the game and do not come to the forum.
Because Blizzard is garbage, and this isn’t TBC.
Because i am small and can only see your shin
