Again, another option and you disregard something just because it’s online.
Hate to break it to you, most people play d2 exclusively online

Bro, I’m not going to fight with you.
You’ll see.
I’ll see a potentially great game you mean, especially of they continue forward with changes like they’ve already announced, but I’m still cautiously optimistic
Seems like trash to me.
Turning a single player game into an open world mmo has not worked yet, but hey, maybe some magic will happen this time
See I never had this problem so I don’t really cite it. I got in very quickly and proceeded to just tear through the game. Most of my leveling group got stuck with login errors and by the time they got in the game I was already in Act 2.
I do vaguely recall a maintenance on like the second day where nobody could log in but people who were already online didn’t get booted which allowed me to further cement my progress, I think I was already in Nightmare by this point.
I was like one of the top 20 people to hit 60, like 3rd for Demon Hunters largely due to issues preventing others from playing.
Yeah they definitely are going to. Path of Exile is an improvement over D2 in every single regard while D3 and soon D4 are basically downgrades in every single regard except for flashier graphics.
And the fact PoE is largely sold on its buddy-buddy relationship with its playerbase which is a very rare occurrence for most companies after their game goes somewhere is a positive. Initially League of Legends had this from beta through season 2 where the developers actively engaged with the community, then when the game got widespread attention after season 2 they basically threw up a middle finger and decided “We’re catering to #LCSBigPlays now.” and they proceeded to cut away core things that made the game enjoyable for so many.
Simple champions with simple kits that were very powerful used correctly where the most elaborate champion initially was Nidalee in terms of things you had to do to be good with her when it came to actual launch or shortly after. Lee Sin wasn’t even a thing until like two years after release. Now every champion released has some form of dash mechanic and a bunch of overloaded potential because they want more flashy gimmicks pulled off in esports.
With respect, I’m glad you had that experience, but that makes you part of the blessed minority.
D3 was unplayable for most players, for most of the first month or two.
I’m glad that wasn’t your experience, but that does make you part of the minority.
Diablo has never been a truly single player game, it was always intended to be played with people
Absolute nonsense.
Never played the first, did you? Or even, really, the second.
This is why it’s so hard to take you young’uns seriously.
You need to look further. They have a lot of interesting features I will give, but will they actually utilize them productively? Probably not. A big thing for Pokemon Sword/Shield was the fact if you were online in the Wild Zone you saw other players who were also online, but they did nothing with it to where it’s one of the lesser points.
Plus it doesn’t look like they’re changing the things making the game terrible as opposed to just adding eye candy. Not a good sign and the game will die very fast once the honeymoon is over.
The first was one of the first games on bnet, Diablo has been multiplayer from day one
They’re changing major systems, that’s far from eye candy
Uh… Diablo one predates bnet, bro…
I’m going to stop replying to you now.
Diablo 1 was designed as single player. It had battle net functionality because Blizzard had just finished it and wanted it thrown into a game for a test drive, this happened to be Diablo. Even Brevik stated this, in addition to saying this was something that happened at the tail end of developing the game to where they had to figure a way to work it in, and he further stated he absolutely hated it because of the abundance of cheaters ruining the game in public lobbies by modding it or running trainers.
Rofl, no it doesn’t, go watch breviks talk about it, Diablo post mortem, it was on bnet out the gate
I have the game on hardcopy from before bnet launched.
Physically impossible, from the creators own mouth it launched with bnet
Ok, maybe 1 wasn’t entirely intended as multiplayer, but 2 was built from the ground up with it in mind.
1 was locally hosted, 2 was server based
Ok bro.
Internet vids and articles contradict physical reality.
Sure.
“Battle net was released December 31, 1996, with the release of Blizzard’s action role-playing video game Diablo.”

Really hate to have to disagree with you here but this is the case. Battlenet was put in day one.
Like I said, go watch Diablo post mortem, it launched with bnet, unless you believe David brevik has a reason to lie about it
